A new coach makes a difference, if it's the right coach. Harbough changed the 49ers. Dan Campbell to a lesser degree. Every player in the NFL is a professional and can compete. Some of have great coaches that motivate them as well as put them in the best position to make plays

I'll be disappointed with anything other than a complete thrashing of the Titans. Coming off last week's t performance, this team should flat out demolish Tennessee. Doubt it happens though.

    Texans - 35
    Titans - 17

    Are the Titans this bad?

    No.

The Texans should be extra juiced though, and, I'm my opinion, have enough talent to beat the Texans that bad in that scenario. As I said, won't happen, though.

I wasn't expecting them to turn things around this year. The idea would be to run the bums out of town and replace them with more competent coaches with a real GM to build a solid foundation for the franchise to build on the partial core they already have.

Clowney, maybe as he's coming back from a major injury and is still on his rookie contract. But Hopkins? Exactly who do you expect will be throwing to him? That's the big question. You will be wasting his most "productive" years on a team going nowhere that's in full scale rebuild mode. At some point, his contract will come into play just like Andre's did.

And therein lies the rub: one would have to buy into the notion that McNair would get it right with head coach #4. Myself? I ain't buying...

When McNair hired O'Brien, he was one of the top coaches available. Who would you have hired instead? Lovie? Caldwell? Gruden? Whisenhunt? Pettine? Zimmer might have done the best job of the bunch but that's not saying much.

He's had 2 of the worst QB's in the league throwing to him this year and yet he's still leading the NFL in total yards and yards per game.

So your point is that having an unproven rookie throwing to/at him would not be much of a difference? Yeah, I can see that - after all, things couldn't get any worse than they are now, right?

If our defense flops again, I wonder if we'd fire Crennel before our bye week.

Mallet actually targeted Hopkins more than Hoyer. Nate Washington gets more targets and receptions with Hoyer than with Mallet.

Hopkins best games were with Hoyer.

He may have gotten targeted more with Mallet if you count 5 yard check downs.

Hopkins had the worst yards after the catch when Mallet was throwing him foot darts

His best games with Hoyer were also games Nate didn't play.

This is a classic trap game.
