I'll say this. Harden would be an even better player offensively if we had a competent coach. Harden literally has to do everything. He has to create and score. There is no such thing as getting him an easy look through a back door cut or having him shoot an open mid range of a screen simply because Mc**** is incapable of drawing up such plays to get him those looks. He could easily add about 4-5 points a game through easy looks but all he can do right now is take contested step back one after the other and or drive to the lane with 3 defenders clogging the paint hoping to get a foul.

Our offense is rudimentary pick up game style. Give it to Harden and hope he can create magic. I thought we added Ty a top 10 PG to get Harden some clean looks but McClap is simply too stupid to devise such plays.

His coaching is essentially "play harder guys" "clap clap"

While other cheer leaders are making $5 an hour, he is making millions to do the same and that too with a suit on, no skimpy clothing and no acrobatic dances needed either. He is one heck of an expensive cheer leader, I tell ya....

can't believe this clown didnt give Thornton a chance to play in the Denver game when the Rockets were struggling on offense

He isnt a good coach at all, i finally realized the players are what make him look competent

And the evidence of that (AFTER ONE GAME) is because he went with one of the all-time leaders in shooting in NBA history over Marcus Thornton in his bench rotation again.... IN THE FIRST GAME???? (Yes I think Thornton looked better in the preseason of course, but still).

Look, I'm a realist... especially about McHale. I know the guy can't coach X's and O's nearly to the point of masterminds like Brad Stevens, and he can't coach to the discipline that a coach like Popovich can. But if THIS is what you guys are using against him as a case to fire him yet again.... AFTER ONE GAME... I personally (and this is my opinion), that you guys are losing your damn minds, and over reacting like petulant children.

    So in short...

I'm all for creating a real statistical and evidence driven case that McHale should be fired AT APPROPRIATE TIMES, but in this case I think you guys have gone mad.

It's not about one game, listen to what you yourself just said about Mchale. You are actually agreeing with us. You mean to tell me you don't think that it's at least valid to even consider someone else as coach?

Don't worry about him, he's been proven wrong posts ago, lol. That's the type of thing you post when you wanna seem like you have a leg to stand on and you know you don't.

We will play much better over time, even with Mchale, that I agree with. But it will be like putting a bandaid over a bullet wound. Enough talent to get a good seed in the playoffs this year? Maybe, but not enough structure, consistency, and discipline to win the playoffs.

Hey, I'm not the one who confuses McHale's job with Morey's job.

I can reply to all your points and you can't do the same....

So have you asked Morey why he hasn't replaced Mchale?

No one is saying you can't consider someone else as coach or it isn't valid.... You've gone beyond constructive criticism though.

    Remember the FIRE ADELMAN thread?

Folks just love to use the coach as a scapegoat for everything. You've clearly blurred the lines between McHale's job and Morey's job.

Those type of folks make mountains out of ant hills. The armchair sports psychology that goes on here is funny.

I bet you were posting in the FIRE ADELMAN thread too! Remember how he never made adjustments or called timeouts when he was suppose in the eyes of CF? Or how he hated rookies!?!?!?!

....good thing we sent him packing.

The reactions aren't Knee Jerk. Championship teams don't lose a home opener by 20 points to a sub par team like the Nuggets. Please check the stats and tell me the last time that happened. Maybe we can be a rare exception and our play Wednesday wasn't indicative of how the next couple of months will go but we are supposed to be championship ready this year and not just relying on preseason to get it together. The excuse for the other side is this is their first game together. Well it's the Nuggets first game together with a new coach and a rookie point guard for god's sake. The worrying factor isn't that the Rockets aren't shooting well. That will get better. The worrying factor is they didn't bother to play defense. They were taking well defended three point shots. There was a distinct lack in change of strategy they were doing the same things that got them down. It's so obvious it smacks you in the face. Yeah we need to probably trade Jones and get a solid PF who can defend and rebound, yes we are rusty, but we also need a coach who is a bit more defensive minded and a bit more solid on strategy, than give the ball to Lawson or Harden, kick out shoot three.

Again your only responses now are just to attack the character of the person you are responding too, you've lost this argument long ago.

who cares if it was a home opener or not. it's a loss whether it was on the first day, last, or in between. The fact that the final score was 20 doesn't even tell the entire story. They played horribly and still were within striking distance for much of the game. They just couldnt sustain a big enough run to get over the hump. And obviously by the way they were shooting, that should explain a lot.
