I am very surprised this is the first comment in this thread in over 5 months. This season has had very high ratings across the board. I'm not worried about Fitz. Spoiler Its hard to follow this show on reddit right now, too much relationship talk all over the place. I do not think that 5 months with Wlll in any way, shape, form or fashion will pose any real threat to FitzSimmons based on what we have seen already. I think they will get him back, then we will learn that Coulsons new GF was the one that sent Will and that's how his story line will move forward instead of taking Simmons from Fitz. IF Will is even real, lol. The only thing i can't piece together is why she has been acting the way she has. They touched on the blood with her injury, and the wine with the bottle, but I don't see what happened to her that would cause those noises (lab equipment, phone vibrations) to make her freak out and act the way she has been. She had food, water, sex, warmth and a cave to live in, a supercharged phone battery that lasted for a long time and was rarely "chased" by whatever there was out there.
I think it was just trying to fit in 6 months in 45 minutes, they weren't able to touch on everything, I think there is still more to be revealed.
That was a good episode. Possibly my favorite. Reminded me a bit of Star Trek TNG. Fitz & Simmons are probably the most interesting characters to me now. I usually groan at love interest stories that happen over the space of one episode, but I thought this one was believable. I'm liking Skye\Daisy much better now too. May and Ward are a bit meh for me now. How many storylines can one show have? Where can I get one of those cell phone batteries that lasts 4 months without charging?
I too like SKYE more now that she is not the focus of every episode I don't like them watering down WARD so much . . . They found him too easily and infiltrated too easily for my tastes. The frentic pacing is good. Cause they should be in disarray and in constant crisis mode. They actually seem a bit too calm Rocket River
Been disappointed so far. Ward character is weak this season. ATCU is uninteresting. Coulson just seems weak and compromising. Lash just is big guy that pops up, people are dead. Rinse. repeat. Hunter and Bobbi have become boring. Fitz, Simmons only interesting characters right now.
How does everyone feel about this season after last nights episode? Spoiler It was ballsy killing off Ros before the opening credits, Coulson goes off the deep end and jumps out of a plane thru the portal. This season has been leading up to a great winter finale.
I think she will be getting much more screen time in the second half of the season. But I agree, she needs more screen time.
Disagree. Since she has been pushed back, the other characters have been really fleshed out. I think the show has gotten better because of it.
This has been bothering me for a while, but why is hydra's symbol an octopus? Hydra's motto is that if you cut one head another will grow back. The exact opposite of what an octopus does.
Yeah, some things don't really make sense in this show. But it's doing a good job of creating drama. Still not on the same level as season 1.5 that integrated so well with the MCU. Does the plot have any source material at all from the comics or is it totally made up? Kinda weird to hear Mallick say this is Hydra's ultimate goal when their ultimate goal was different last season, and different than the last movie, and different before, etc. etc. Side note, they totally need to make Iron Chef metal bend with knives and kitchen utensils as a meta joke. Next episode, metal bender vs metal bender.
The heads of Hydra all seem to have different ideas on what hydra is I think that is the same as the comics (not these levels of wildness but ) I am glad they moved away from Skye . . . . Her being the solution to everything got old Rocket River
Pretty crappy season finale. Spoiler So that "thing" somehow was able to kill all other "sacrifices" that Hydra sent into the portal, but Fitz somehow takes it down temporarily...and with a flaregun...
It seems like you can temporarily disable it, but being an immortal god, it'll get back up and it's just a matter of time before it has the drop on you. They left a lot of gaps explaining the sequence of events, which I think was poor writing. Particularly how SHIELD escaped the HYDRA assault, or how Ward was able to escape through the portal without Fitz/Coulson knowing. Ward being a possessed god does set up things to get interesting. I was disappointed that the metalbender fight was pretty weak.
Looks like the worm or slime or whatever it is needs an actual body to survive. It probably lied about how the entire city died as well..just like he killed those soldiers. Agreed on the plotholes, same things I said. I know the box Andrew was in is how they got back to the plane, but how they got to it..there did seem to be one way they all got out that wasn't covered by Hydra, but only May and Simmons knew about/saw it. How the creature had enough time to crawl over to a dead Ward and follow Coulson and Fitz back into an almost closed portal which had less than a minute left open is just bad bad lazy and just dont give a crap writing
I'll agree the end of how the creature got to Ward in time to take over his body and got through the portal without anyone noticing is far fetched. But I forgive it since we get more Ward or nuWard or Zombie Ward however you want to see him. He has probably been the best villian in the show and it would actually be a shame to lose him. And I'm all in for more Daisy. She is just getting sexier and sexier as the show goes on dammit
