cangrejero1 will spin this by saying Hinch only received 3 votes for TSN manager of the year.

That ought to clear things up.

Evan Drellich is a tool. Terrible reporting, resorting to troll articles & Tweets since the team won't give him any respect (nor should they).

He's better than Brian Smith, but that's not saying much. Houston has pretty terrible reporters. I really like Levine and Footer before they left. Never been a big McTaggert fan (he dogs on the Rockets and Texans a lot...cmon man, know you're audience).

With respect to the official MLB award, you also said that the same people that vote on gold gloves vote for manager of the year(or at least used Palmeiro's winning a GG as an example of bad voting). That is not the case.

Why? They're everything the Astros should hope to be next year.

I hope they meet in the 2016 ALCS.

Because they're so good..lol & like Astros123 said, I can't stand Hosmer especially & not very fond of Cueto, Ventura, Cain and Moustakus. Just because

Royals will likely take a significant step back next year with Cueto, Holland, Gordon and Zobrist quite possibly all gone.

Interesting note I heard on the radio in Chicago is that the expectation is that Cueto will only get 6/125-135. The man discussing the amount is a former top assistant to Boras who now runs a charity. He also had Kazmir at 3/36. He also thinks the Orioles set up man (Day) will get as much as Kazmir/Estrada. He had Upton at 6/130.

I know Cueto struggled in KC, but he has been consistently a #1 starter for years in Cincy and by most accounts is a strong worker/competitor. If it really only would take 6/130, I have to think the Astros would be seriously interested. A rotation with Dallas K/Cueto/McCullers would be very challenging.

I don't expect a huge payroll increase, but Cueto costs no draft pick and would allow the Astros to save money by moving the prospects they would spend on a mid season pitcher for cheap/productive fill ins at other positions of need through trade.

Cueto is inconsistent as hell. Dude would scare me if he was pitching on this team, because you never know which guy was gonna show up. If it's the Cueto of last night or ALDS Game 5, sign me up.

From 2011-2014 Cueto managed to outperform his FIP almost a full run. Prior to the trade he was doing it again, but by years end his ERA had regularized.

If I were thinking about pursuing Cueto you have to ask yourself if there was a tangible reason for his metric overachieving. His FIP over the last 5 seasons is 3.41, in the NL. That's a good pitcher, but not ace level. You could be paying 20+ million for a guy that is probably the 3rd best starter in a good rotation.

I hate them because they play dirty. Beaning Springer, we lost him for a critical 2 months. Of course they beaned Altuve in the same game, just because the Astros were sweeping them.

They also had more bench clearing scrums this season than any other team. All for beaning guys. So yeah, they're an easy team to hate.

Thanks for the insight seal, that is really helpful. I think Cueto has been too shaky this year (phenomenal first half, followed by injury concerns, then a trade, then a terrible end to the regular season, but then flashes greatness in the postseason) to invest that many years and that much money into him.

I will say that I would love to extend Kazmir at 3/36.
