A true Rockets fan would have told him "you don't deserve supper tonight."

Mudiay outplayed both Lawson and Beverley even with 11 turnovers. That's sad.

Its like a bunch of people kept trying to run through the wall and they didn't give up doing that. And the sad thing is, it was actually a rather thin wall and they still couldn't break it. Lets see if they insist doing the same thing friday to a much thicker wall.

Well, my friend said, "He's saying that now, but you should have heard him in the stands!" I elbowed him, of course, but Sam's dad was laughing hard and I said, "yeah, of course, I get mad during games... but you know, at the end you dust it off and move on to the next one." I felt bad at first b/c Sam had his head down and seemed genuinely sorry when he apologized. First, it's just a ****ing game, and it's a regular season game, and it's the first one. Players don't need to be apologizing to me- it's not like I'd do any better out there.

I was almost certain Thornton earned the backup two spot.

Why did Terry come in before him? And why didn't Thornton play at all?

It was just like nothing worked. Shots were all a bit off, and for several players, and the defense was porous, and Harden was too lackadaisical IMHO- let's face it, they ****ed up big time- probably the worst loss of any game I've been to in the Toyota Center- but it's one game, so on to Friday night.

I'm with you, I don't think this will be the norm this season other than the fact that I don't know of many championship teams who lost a season opener at home. They very well may beat GS Friday, I'm just surprised after all of the talk we see a team who seemed to be dispassionate to say the least. They lacked the fire I expected after Harden ended the season the way he did that's all I'm saying.

    Cool story dandorotik!:) Repped.
No he was not ever league average defender and it's not only about the rotations.
He gets caught on screens, other pgs are able to shoot over him and blow by him. The stats are there to prove it over the course of his whole carreer.
He may be able to be hidden a bit if your wings are great defenders, but not in this team next to Harden. He should come off the bench.

Brewer shouldn't even be touching the ball in half court settings unless its for a corner 3. Also, for the amount of relentless attacking he does, you'd figure he would be going to the line more. Harden needs to school him.

Zach Lowe mentioned how teams shot a league low 3pt% against us last season and that was a big part of why we were an above average defense. He also said to expect some slippage in this area and it's more variable than other defensive categories season to season. We saw it tonight as Nuggets were bombing away on us over and over.

Gary Harris is a damn good defender, I was kind of surprised. Harden had a bad game but Harris had a lot to do with that. MSU product.we should start drafting from there.

Thornton looked prepared more than anyone on the team in preseason, playing Jet over him is just stupid

Given all the injuries the amount of pre-season games were a problem.

Thanks for the info. Capela's going to be a key factor in this team's staying competitive through the regular season. Let's he's up to the task.

out of the 1000 things that happened tonight, for some reason lawson passing up shots annoyed me the most. if thornton wasn't gonna see the floor, i wanted someone, ANYONE, to take a ~good~ shot. lawson was wide open a few times then passed into traffic. this is a thing that will probably be fixed very soon, but still, was extremely disappointing, as the offense stretched out and died in the third quarter. if he makes just a few open shots, the rest of the team gets motivated maybe and turns it around.
