Is it my imagination or do we have an incredibly thin bench? Even when Dwight comes back, I see no one who can be a sixth man of the year candidate.
When healthy, I think depth will be fine. Dwight, D-Mo make a huge impact... big change when they're in.
Clutch, I agree, is there any time table on DMo? He is far and away our best post player, and we really need another option when the 3balls and jumpers are not falling like tonight. DD
DMO's post game would have made a huge difference tonight. Nothing having an inside option when our 3's couldn't find the zip code they were supposed to be in sealed our fate. I REALLY hope that DMO is at least the same player he was when he returns. This team desperately needs a reliable inside game.
i'm more worried about our coaching depth. tr dunn's defensive sets have been non-existent all month.
If, and it's a big if, if the Rockets are healthy, their bench is elite. If the Lawson-as-a-starter experiment doesn't work, then he immediately becomes the best bench player in the league. Jones as a starter sucks, but as a bench player, not so bad when DMO comes back. Not worried in the slightest about our depth.
After tonight the two who need to be looking over their shoulder as far as losing rotation minutes is Brewer and Jones. Thornton needed some minutes tonight with the outside shooting being so bad and Harrell needed more time in the second half. Rotations by McHale tonight were bad.
Thornton did more than enough in the pre-season to earn minutes. Harrell did more than enough in his minutes tonight to earn even more in the second half. What's the point of having depth when McHale is so stuck in his pathetic rotation ways?
I think it's the perimeter depth that worries me the most. An older Terry, a non playmaking Beverly, and sometimes effective Brewer doesn't inspire much confidence in me. Jones, capela, and Harrell can hold it down in the paint
Well as bench players, they will be fine imo. Injuries to dmo and Howard are putting them in roles they aren't equipped for

I really don't expect that huge impact impact you're talking about from Dwight. To me he has been such a disappointment when you consider his huge salary he gets.
That is because you are simply looking at his post offense. His defense and rebounding makes a HUGE impact. Even on offense, he provides the drivers/pick-roll runners with an excellent option around the rim. It is when it posts up that he bogs the team offense down.
Depth wise we are ok when it comes to regular season... Dwight Capella DMo Jones Harden Lawson Beverley Ariza Brewer Thornton All these players can contribute in the regular season. Its the playoff 8 man rotation that has me worried. In the playoffs, I would trust only these guys.... Dwight Capella Harden Lawson Beverley Ariza Brewer One quality player (big) short for the playoffs.
