McHale's rotations are frustrating to watch.

I swear. For a coach that always talk about energy and playing hard, his team has done one thing on quite a regular basis - not being ready to play with energy and to play hard when exactly you should expect them to be ready.

What team isn't excited to start a new season for another run after reaching the CF?

What team isn't full of energy to start a playoff series, at home, against a depleted Clipper team?

    ..

Yes, because the spurs, the mighty spurs had the 2nd seed on the line.

Anyone that panics about this L losses credibility for me.

A team that held the 2 seed then had to fight back to get it.

A team that was down to three clippers and pulled out a all time come back...

And I'm supposed to be worried about a losing one game..

It's not the loss itself that is troubling.

It is the way we played. Had the rockets played better and just got beaten by a better team that night it'd be different.

Rockets can't be taken seriously playing like that.

Well if you believe they will play like this for the rest of the season then they be drafting top 10.

Exactly: I was just about to post this. They played horribly, they shot horribly and had some of the worst turnovers. When they were down they just kept taking bad shots. Individual play was just as poor as it gets tonight

McHale's interviews are pragmatic and obvious just as his coaching style.

Listening to him trying to explain this loss is even worse than actually losing.

Ty Laws on really played the two guard while James ran point kind of stupid thanks coach for another poorly run office. you've been a joke with your silly rotations for long enough you are not X's and o's type of coach we need a change and it starts there... By the way I have not been impressed with Lawson in a rockets uniform in the preseason or regular season

I know it's a running joke on here but Kevin says the same thing after every loss.

Didn't play hard/Gotta play harder/They played harder than we did
No ball movement/Ball got sticky/Need more ball movement

The Nuggets are supposed to finish with equal record if not worse than Philly thsi year. Let that sink in.
We didn't lose against a great team. Or even a good team. We lost against a team that is going to pick in the top5. By 20 points.
This is extremely troubling to me.

I'm not really paying much attention to your comment since we in fact did not lose to Philadelphia last year, so can't really take what you say seriously.

Unfortunately we spent all last season like this.

The whole 'we made it to the WCF so that automatically means McHale is a good coach' comment is laughable.

Put anyone not named LeBron in Harden's place last year and we don't even have the audacity to think about the #2 seed.

Heck, give McHale Curry and I guarantee you he doesn't get crowned the 'MVP'

He did have 7 points and 5 assists at one point in the first half. But I agree.

I mentioned to my brother the other day I think we will struggle with him at the beginning of the season because he'll be trying too hard to fit in instead of playing his game.

I don't think we can really judge him until the back end of this season when he will be comfortable deferring to James and when he knows he should be taking over and attacking instead of looking for the pass.

    He absolutely is not.

Just go have a look at what all the people in the know (I use that saying very loosely) at ESPN think about that Warriors team. Defensive players of the year candidates. Top 20 players in the NBA scattered throughout their roster.

The dude didn't even win more *****ing Player of the Month awards than one of his teammates for crying out loud.

He is no doubt good. Unheard of shooting skills. But to think he isn't a product of that system is moronic.

And there's still people who claim Jones is better than D-Mo. Give me a break!!

I'm sure Mchale worked on some new catch phrases for his timeouts. Hopefully he has figured out some new ways to tell his team to play harder.

Just lol at this guy as the head coach. That feels so pathetic to say.

Are you Kevin McHale? That sounds like some BS he'd say.

You're right. One game against a team we had no excuse not to beat by 15 points won't have any bearing on the Playoff picture whatsoever in this brutal Western Conference.

PS: do yourself a favour and don't detect my sarcasm or look at the Western Conference Playoff race last year - so you can keep living in that fantasy world.

A little concerned, chemistry will be an issue. Even with that guys were missing shots and no one outside of Harrell played well.

I'll tell you what.. Be concerned about Jones.

Is it a cause for concern with respect to roughly how many games we will win this year? No, you will always lose a few you shouldn't and win a few you shouldn't.

Is it a cause for concern in the sense that a game or two might be the difference between HCA in the playoffs, and that championship caliber teams don't usually give up games like this on their home floor? That the last 11 champions have all won their opening game? That we clearly had no preparation and game plan for what is supposed to be a big game?

Yes it absolutely is. It's a terrible, embarrassing loss, people are going to be upset and rightfully so. The vast majority of people in this thread aren't "jumping ship" so to speak, but there are some things I saw tonight that have me concerned in the long run, absolutely. Getting off to a good start is important in such a stacked conference, and everything I've seen up until now suggests that won't happen for us, which is disappointing.

You simply aren't understanding the big picture here.

People aren't worried about this singular loss to a bad, horribly bad team.

We are just real and understand the absolute inadequacy of this coaching staff is something our potentially great team will have to win in spite of for another year.

I bet you thought the Golden State Warriors were good with Marc Jackson as head coach didn't you.

What exactly has happened to that team when they got a competent head coach?

I hope I never see the lineup of Terry-Lawson-Beverly-Harden-Brewer again. That was weird, plus correct me if i am wrong but i thought Thornton did a decent job in pre-season to at least get a few minutes in the opener.

You guys are such a bunch of babies. It's one freaking game. We shot 22% from the 3 point line and we couldn't gain momentum at any point in the game. We won 50+ games with almost the same roster.
