And? It's 82 game season, some of them you just weren't meant to win.

Again, there have been many times a good team losses their first game. The hawks lost to the pistons just last night.

We lost to the 6ers last year... The 6ers...

There spurs lost to the pelicana with the 2 seed on the line... Look, it happens.

Maybe they will just be bad matchup for us all year, ah well. We really don't know. Maybe mudiay is going to lead them to the playoffs.

One thing I do know though is that this team has been through a lot more than to panic about a 0-1 record.

It sucks when Dwight comes back. He is obviously going to make us better but will basically cover up our major flaws. Lipstick on a pig, I don't want it

We'll said. The guy is notorious for hitting the gyms in the offseason. Hes always doing things like drew league too. Im so tired of this notion that Curry is way better than Harden. It's absolute crap They are different players. I don't think Curry is capable of carrying a team for an entire season the way Harden is.

He did but the chemistry is very low. He made a lot of solid passes that should have been assist

did you seriously just compare losing to a top 2 lottery team to losing to a playoff team?

    you lost all credibility

What's even more scarier is that Dwight comes back Friday and he has had no but whatsoever and the chemistry with him is probably not gonna be there

Agree 100%. We got very lucky last year, we had a game similar to this against the lowly Lakers at home that we just came out and lost in similar fashion. And it would have bit us in the ass had the Spurs not lost the final regular season game in New Orleans. We were one game away from the 5th seed, which would have meant losing in the 2nd round against the Warriors instead of the WCF. Every game absolutely does matter.

Occasionally dropping a game you should win happens sometimes. But to lose your season opener(!) in such a fashion is absolutely a worthy cause of concern. We played exactly 1 good quarter of basketball in the preseason, other than the 1st quarter against the Magic we were terrible in all facets of the game in preseason and it's clearly carried over.

And we lost to the Lakers at home not the 76ers and it would have costed us the 2 seed had the Spurs not lost the last game of the year in New Orleans. The West is too stacked, the seeds will be separated by one or two games max, games like this especially at home are inexcusable. We got a lot of work to do.

I want to know what the hell they worked on in the preseason, this was ugly.

We need DMO back ASAP, we need a GOOD different option than drive and dish for 3....we need someone to go to that is reliable when the shots aren't falling.

It's not a cause for concern it's 1 game in a season of 82 I GUARANTEE the Spurs, OKC and even the beloved Warriors will loose a game they SHOULD win. It's called basketball

We lost to the lakes, the jazz, the magic...

    Inexcusable, fine.

But anyone worrying about this should really refer back to last season.

I'm tired of hearing "it's one game." The problems we saw tonight are NOT new. The poor defensive rotations, the lack of rebounding, the inability to generate easy offense, the overreliance on the 3 ball, Harden's indifference when the ball isn't in his hands, the unforced turnovers and the total lack of team synergy - all of these have been an issue since the preseason and some of them (lack of easy offense, rebounding, the turnovers and Harden's indifference) have been an issue since last season. These were the exact problems that led us to lose the series against Golden State and they're going to sink us again when we play top tier teams.

I had hoped that we would see some improvement due to the lineup continuity. But maybe that's the problem - we're expecting the same cast of characters to perform differently.

We cannot win a championship solely on Harden's elite iso-play. It will get us to the playoffs and will give a number of thrilling wins. But if we're still givng our opponents a bunch of extra possessions due to unforced turnovers and missed defensive boards, WE WILL NOT WIN IT ALL.
