Doesn't seem so cold and calculated when you read the team agreed with him on an injury settlement so he could go play elsewhere http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/houston-texans-mike-mohamed-released-injury-settlement-100715
Gonna be fun watching him make plays for another team. What am I saying, if Smith let him walk then he must be trash. Right?
Teams don't stash injured players on their active roster if they're going to be out for weeks; they just can't afford it. With Foster taking up the only available slot on short-term IR, it left the Texans with two choices: 1) IR or 2) injury settlement. That they chose IR demonstrates a commitment to wanting Mohammad back. This idea they screwed him over is LCD-baiting nonsense.
Top 10 reasons to be the next Texans GM: 4. You’d Look Like A Good Talent Evaluator By Default It would be very difficult to draft worse than Rick Smith has during his tenure. Other than first round picks and a few solid picks later on, the Texans have missed time and time again. The most outstanding draft in team history was Charley Casserly’s last in 2006. Mario Williams turned out to be a the right pick. I hope Clowney turns out the same way, though I’ll take better too. The jury is still out on the 2015 class, but Smith’s track record gives little hope. http://houseofhouston.com/2015/10/29/top-reasons-to-be-the-houston-texans-next-gm/?utm_source=FanSided&utm_medium=Network&utm_campaign=Trending%20on%20FS
I don't have a problem with the 'power structure'. As it was in 2013 and now, it all comes down to having a productive quarterback in schaubie die and not being able to replace his production, not even really trying. And who is responsible for ignoring the qb position? It took kubiak one season of watching david to say "i've had enough of this long haired kid". B.O.B is now in year two and has chosen to go with more patriots has-beens or never-beens. It seems the talking heads are more upset at the fact that their perceived notion, of rick smith being some guy that says yeah yeah yeah more than the rainman, has been shattered. I'm all for firing Rick smith and B.O.B, but nothing is going to change until you can get a qb. A lot of this is on the coaches, moving the o-line all over just because the fatty you wanted instead of little carr can't cut it. The defense really misses Brooks. apparently he was the only guy on the defense that could recognize a screen. the entire coaching staff also got smoke blown into their arses. =/ At least we have the astros and morley featuring the rockets.

Yeah, as much guff as Kubiak takes... he agreed to give Carr an opportunity, which was a legitimately defensible idea. But he didn't let it linger and he not only jettisoned him as soon as possible but had a plan B ready to go. Kubiak understood the importance of a QB - and this was 8 years ago, FYI. In that single regard, he has BOB lapped. BOB has treated the QB position like it's the punter; there's been too little urgency and way too much hubris.
If you look at it, every time there was a problem with Mallett it was directly after he was treated less than fairly. You'd expect BOB to know that there would be problems if he did that to someone he should know was immature. BOB put on a farce of a QB competition then handed the job to Hoyer.....late for practice the next day. BOB pulls Hoyer for being terrible and puts Mallett in at QB till he gets hit in the ribs and pulls himself out of the game for a play (which was the responsible thing to do) in a game where he's doing pretty well thus far despite a pick on a pass that hit his receiver in the hands.....he gets pulled permanently for Hoyer. Hoyer then has to come out of the game for a play the very next game and goes right back in after one play like should have happened the next week......Mallett misses the flight the very next week. There's no excusing Mallett's childishness, but BOB had to have known about it yet he vouched for him anyway and then did just about everything in his power to ensure a negative response from Mallett. There's no way to not blame BOB for that whole situation.
Mallett..... Hoyer..... BOB.... Smith.... McNair..... Kubiak....... Letterman jackets..... Casserly... Bulls on Parade...... all of that nonsense can just be erased from Texans history.
Watching the Patriots makes me realize how nice it would be if we had just one guy who can make people miss (with Foster being out). Pats have Lewis, Edelman, Amendola all capable of making something out of nothing.
