    Who cares?

If it bothers the Rockets, they need to go out and beat them this season.

Definitely sounds better, and I guess he was responding to something Ty said earlier?

In any case, I still contend that the thing that irks me about Steph and the Warriors is their passive aggressiveness. It's kind of a fake tough guy kind of thing.

You don't usually see that kind of stuff historically... even with nice guys. Hakeem just brought it on the court, and then was humble off - nice guy approach. Kobe just brought it on the court and was an ass off - fully aggressive approach.

The middle ground, passive aggressive approach... just irks me.

Kinda funny, not salty about it. Ty started it anyway. If we're gonna dish out trash talk we should expect it back

He's the real writers mvp, you know, the people who have biased agendas. Sorely a most popular award if there are multiple candidates.

I wonder why the players named Harden the MVP? Oh yeah, because he did the most with the least of any championship contender.

Curry is worthy of the mvp, but not James Harden worthy.

Exactly, talk is cheap, make them respect you by beating them. I hate the hipster Warriors but they did sweep us last season, even though we were dealing with injuries.

I have a sinking feeling this rivalry will be more Rockets-Sonics than Rockets-Jazz.

nobody really cares about that at the end of the day including Harden. He wants the real MVP trophy and hopefully he'll be able to get it one day.

I laughed. Ty Lawson threw the first salvo, have no qualms with Curry hitting back.

All in good fun and I don't think there's much bad blood either way....yet.

who knows they destroyed the Rockets last season (like they did almost every team) but the previous seasons the Rockets have been pretty dominant against the Warriors themselves.

It will be interesting to see how it goes because the one thing the Warriors have had that the Rockets have not at all lately is team chemistry. The Warriors did not have much roster turnover in the last few years to their core (Curry, Klay, Barnes, Bogut) and they've added pieces around them. The Rockets on the other hand have been shuffling in players in and out like crazy up until this season where they added one piece and kept everyone else intact.

I don't have issue with Curry's comments its fine. I do agree though there is a weird aura of passive-aggressiveness/entitlement around everything this team does. Which is weird because Kerr's comments aren't like that (at least what I've read they've been more humorous). But Bogut, Klay, Green, Curry have all sort of been like that since last year.

Its going to be a fun season I just hope everyone stays healthy this year.

Oh and teams do need to make sure guys like Klay, Curry etc do "taste wood" this year. Not purposefully injure them but clean hard fouls to make them second guess and think.

Lol rockets fans are too sensitive especially concerning the Warriors. I guess it's just envy that the team had a easy time disposing of us last year in their way to a championship.

Actually I think it means a lot to the players to them being recognized by the peers is probably way more important than being recognized by the media (who have their own biases and agenda). I don't think it replaces being named MVP by the league of course, Harden would prefer that and that recognition it gets, but players MVP probably means a lot to him and it would for whoever wins it this year.

Everyone here seems to agree that they have no problem with his statement. He's telling the truth. Read the thread because I don't see these "sensitive" rockets fans.

I disagree, especially being more important. Don't think its close at all. A player of JH's caliber wants to be recognized for the work he's put in with the highest reward. Behind the scenes the players recognize who the best players in the league are already without some gimmick accolade to try and compensate for it. These NBAPA awards are just consolation awards and mean very little to the players.

It's a real thing. Thompson was dead tired from guarding Harden, he had nothing left on offense. Though Ariza guarding him didn't help either....
