Harsh! You know that no one can carry a movie like Vinny Chase. Plus, Idris doesn't have Ari Gold as his agent. If one doesn't have Ari Gold as their agent then then it's already a loss.

    1. I had no idea this guy direct/written Sin Nombre
    2. I've yet to see True Detective Season 1 but he directed all of the episodes? What made him not do the 2nd season?
    3. Seems like one of the directors to look out for, very interesting and wide range of involvement in film.

I think its a combination of having a lot more opportunities and True Detective trying to get a different feel/genre for each season.

^^ Before I watch that, does it give away too much?

Hard to say, which maybe means the answer is "no."

I feel like I get the main subject of the movie really well, with the very basic plot set-up and two of the main characters. But I can't really tell what's going to happen, other than it being very depressing.

I'm about half way through with this and I'm pretty impressed. This might be the best performance I've ever seen from a child actor.

Idris Elba is my favorite actor right now. He nailed that role. That little boy, Agu is marvelous. This movie is going on my best year list along with Ex-Machina. The best part? I didn't have to go see this at some crummy movie theater. At the comfort of my own home on the couch with a press of a button. Digital streaming is the way to go folks. If Star Wars Episode VII goes to streaming services, I would c*m in my pants. I hate going to theaters.

    Terrific movie.

Would love to see it at the movies though for the sound system and big screen because it is visually and audibly(?) stunning.

    Will get some Oscar nominations.

And giant screens. And enjoying the experience with other people. Movie theaters are fun.

Beasts of No Nation was fun too. Terrific performances. If someone unsuspecting was walking by at certain parts, it could pass for a documentary.

I didn't really like it. I thought the end dragged out too long and it kind of just abruptly and randomly ended.

I liked it, but I didn't think it was a great movie. It got sort of boring during the last third.

    6.5/10
