I thought it was pretty strong. Seems now that the show is starting to fully embrace super powered characters. I imagine all of next season will just be one big build to civil war. The show wasn't nearly as crippled by the movies as last season, so that doesn't concern me. Given the way show renewals work, they are basically guaranteed for 2 more seasons now, so i can quit caring about the ratings. Spoiler They are gonna put together the secret warriors next season, starting with Quake, so I'm all on board for that. I have no clue what the big block and Simmons is supposed to be.
How many of y'all were watching the finale instead of game 5? I'm going to need to do a binge watch after the playoffs are over. I was thinking that might start today but it looks like it will have to wait!
Are they? They were only renewed for the upcoming season. If a company really had faith in a show, they'd renew it for multiple seasons (Big Bang Theory was renewed for 2 more seasons). The ending was shot a bit weird, no? Spoiler It went from Coulson and May talking to the Terragenesis stuff mixing with ocean water to all the fish oil on the shelves. Then after a commercial break, it went to Fitz and Simmons talking, then Simmons gets rekt by that weird changing block thing. I thought the sequence should have been Fitz/Simmons, rekt, May/Coulson, fish oil. Just thought the overall sequence was a bit weird.
Thought it went more like this: Spoiler Coulson Clark Gregg talked to Skye after wiping out the memory of Cal, her father. Latter opened up a pet store, vet store. Then May took off to vacation, and Andrew, her ex talked to Coulson on the phone.... Then tuna and blue crystal in the water, cut to fishing, cut to the finished fish oil product. ..Awkward romantic moment between Fitz and Simmons, Simmons got sucked into that Kree artifact
Spoiler There was a comment made by Coulson to her ex about them being friends and May and the ex drinking half his scotch in his office implying they were messing around. Overall i liked the season finale, glad it was a 2hr finale there was a lot happening. I think the actress playing Skye's mom did a really good job with her character. Slight cliff hanger, but they closed a good bit out, or at least started closure on most things. Spoiler Poor Fitz, when she wanted to talk to him earlier in the episode, i knew something was going to happen to one of them, since had already had to deal with adversity, i assumed it would be her. He's going to flip since he is the one that flipped that lever.
Spoiler They were talking awkwardly, he leaned on the box surrounding the artifact and he unlatched something by accident, i think he even apologized
Finally caught up. Did not like it. Spoiler I knew Raina was gone because she is going to be in AMC's Preacher. I don't like how they did her character though. I like that Sky's mom showed true hatred . . . i mean she was basically gutted alive and put back together. The twist on her powers was a bit . . . .unnecessary but needed to show she was 'evil'. I would hope she shows back up as SELENE of the HELLFIRE CLUB since her power match her more than anything. You drop a crate of hazardous crap in the ocean and don't bother to go and Retreive it??? Really? After seeing AoU - Why exactly is Colson Director? Where is nick? The managed to kill off all the 'problems' too neatly for my tastes BEST PART OF THIS . . . . as per always . .. . WARDand the NEW HYDRA!! It was ok . . .. not quite MEH but not Great either Rocket River
New Hydra seems meh. I know it's probably a deeper group, but if it's just Ward and 3 goonies needing to recruit...meh. Plus, Hydra doesn't seem like a big threat, now that there are superpowered Inhumans out and about. Coulson is director because Nick had to stay dead in Winter Soldier...so that Nick can work in secret against Hydra...I think? I can't remember the exact reasons.
Spoiler He shows up in a Helicarrier in the most recent movie. Figure the cat was out the bag after that. I thought the 1st Goon was Crusher Creel at first. Rocket River
So is Nick running Avengers Super SHEILD now? I mean the end of AOU kind of makes SHEILD redunandant and pointless....
