That's like saying that a steak from Golden Corral is the same as a steak from Pappas. It's a silly statement and you should know better. Haymitch, I have had minimal luck so far, unless you want to spend 500+
Found a new favorite bourbon over the weekend that you should check out: http://angelsenvy.com/whiskey I tried all 3 and they were very, very good.
Thanks, I will try it. Right now I have the Buffalo Trace bourbon and it is pretty good. I finally tried the 1835 "Texas" bourbon that Specs always seems to be pushing so hard (at least they always push it on me when I go down the whiskey isle). It was cheap so I can't complain too much, but I won't be getting it again. It was way too sweet, which is bizarre because the employee recommended it to me specifically after I stated I didn't want anything too sweet. Going forward I will ignore all recommendations by Specs employees. I should know better because they just always happen to recommend whatever they're featuring.
I drink it on ice. For a while I tried my hand at making my own Old Fashioneds but I was terrible at it. It seems so easy! I tried different ways because I didn't know what I was doing wrong, but mine sucked no matter what so I've given that up. (Then again, I am picky with my Old Fashioneds.)
i think the pappy 12 yr special reserve is some of the tastiest bourbons i've ever had. can't recall ever having the 20 yr. i'm more of a single malt man myself, though.
