I'm sure it's been talked about a ton, but I think Kyler is just too small to have a future in football. Not only is he short, but he is really slight - narrow shoulders and all that. If he has a real chance at baseball, I'd recommend he focus on that. Looks like a little boy out there.

Well, he's had playing time. If he had played at an extremely high level, then that would have forced Sumlin to give him more playing time.

Murray has talent, no doubt. But, he looks absolutely tiny out there. I would be very surprised if Sumlin had promised that Murray was going to start over Allen. Maybe Sumlin told him that he would get some playing time and would get to compete for the starting job.

Once again, Murray has played. He was inserted into the game and given a shot during the Alabama game, and he wasn't very good.

Murray didn't play during the Mississippi game, but I thought that maybe Sumlin was doing Murray a favor. The offense looked terrible, and maybe Sumlin didn't think it was fair to throw a true freshman out there, just to have his confidence crushed.

When you have two five star recruits on the team, one guy is probably going to be unhappy with playing time. One guy will probably transfer. What's important for Sumlin, is to identify the QB he wants to go forward with. Right now neither player looks like a big time college QB. Allen has the size and arm to possibly develop into something special. Murray just looks too small to play in the SEC. If Murray transfers I don think it would be that big of a loss. I don't think Sumlin will have a problem recruiting another QB.

Murray should have went to Auburn. Strong trying to use mobile QB's - that's not what Strong does, it's forced. I don't think he'll transfer. And if he does we have another 5 star on the way.

Not sure where he saw it, but 2-3 weeks ago a friend of mine told me Kyler Murray was expressing regrets about going to A&M.

If Allen's problems aren't mainly physical, I don't see how Sumlin can trust him. But Murray clearly isn't ready. Luckily, the next 4 games are cakewalks so it shouldn't matter.

Cursing out your coach anywhere is not a good idea

These last few years are your best string of football in 20 years, and you still have 56-0 stompings on record. Well, I guess that's better than 77-0, so congratulations on your progress!

Oh wait......I apologize. I look like a major a$$. I read that to mean - "Who cares if we lose a 5 star QB? We're A&M. We'll just get another 5 star QB. They all want to come here." So I reacted real quick, b/c I thought that was real arrogant. Turns out you were probably referring to Tate Martell. So, everything I wrote was COMPLETELY uncalled for, and I really do apologize. That was really lame of me. Sorry.

That 5 star is a 2017 recruit. Which means he's still two years away, and there's still a long way to go in that recruitment.

Not like Allen is going to the NFL tomorrow or something. 2017, 2018, whatever. 5 stars-a-comin'.

I catch flack for stating a fact about a verbal commitment but it's everyone else wants to piss on things.

There is a lot of time between now and then, and verbal commits are pretty shakey when it comes to these teens.

Aggies had a hot start in the SEC with Johnny, but things haven't been looking so hot for them lately. Still plenty of time for things to get better, or worse, and that could affect his recruitment. It's not like he's a Texas boy that wants to stay home but play in the SEC.

You're banking on the fact that Stumblin will still be there in 2 years. If he made promises to Kyler, which apparently he did, and is not living up to them then that's a real issue. Players on the team are not going to have trust in him and therefore recruits won't either. Besides if aTm continues to have middle of the pack finishes with no real good bowl game, those 5 stars will look elsewhere. Its really not going to be hard for other schools, especially SEC schools, to negative recruit aTm if they continue to ***** the bed. But I hope Stumblin stays and they keep cycling coordinators and remain a 500 million dollar rebuild, for the 8-9 wins a year.

I get the impression, for whatever reason, people were thinking TAMU's expectation this year was to win the west or something. It wasn't. They are a young, talented group that should hold their own in the years to come. People act like there's some kind of failure going on at TAMU right now and that isn't the case. It's cyclical. If they don't compete in 16 & 17 Sumlin should catch some heat, but right now it just doesn't make sense to think they're some kind of world beater.

Recruiting has been fine. Top notch facilities, stadium, streaming 1st-2nd round talent into the NFL draft, fans, money, only SEC school in Texas.

You keep wishing for bad things to happen, which is weird, get over it. There are actual bad things happening right now in Austin, worry about that.

This is year 4 for Sumlin so yeah Im thinking people were expecting something. At least all the football sites and atm fans that I know were. And I understand that its cyclical, believe me all Texas fans do more than ever. Except this is the best stretch that atm has had in quite some time, so the cycle could head back to that downward trend. I also assumed that championships were the goal and not just having top notch facilities and streaming talent to the NFL. Didn't realize your goal was to be another Georgia.

Bad things have been happening in Austin, you're right about that. But this is only Strong's second year and all the players he recruited are freshmen who actually have been playing pretty well considering we started out against a bunch of ranked opponents. And I am not wishing bad things to happen to aTm, just stating the facts that finishing middle of the pack, going back on promises to 5 star players, and cycling coordinators every year doesnt exactly sound like a dynasty in the making.

Lol. You really seem bitter about something.

We don't know what was, or was not promised to Murray. Anytime you have two five star QB's on the roster, one of them will probably be unhappy. Either Allen or Murray will probably transfer. That's OK. Sumlin just needs to figure out which guy is the better player. The offense as a whole has been disappointing to me. The running game has been weak.

I don't see the Aggies having trouble recruiting anytime soon. As the lone SEC school in Texas, it will always be a popular destination for top recruits.
