Sixers just released Furkan Aldemir. That's the guy I want to sign to a minimum salary deal.

I cannot hardly believe the Sixers waived Aldemir. This almost feels like some sort of agreed to trade. They waive him at the last moment. Aldemir is a legit NBA big. Very efficient player. I fully expect Morey to go after him with a contract. I cannot fathom Morey not wanting to get this guy signed before somebody else scrapes him up.

LOL no wonder you don't understand it... You always think someone that doesn't want to sign fringe talent is against signing a fringe talent because of prejudice and hate. Get off it. Most of the time peoples opinions are they just don't think the player is promising enough to make the move.

On PJIII, sounds like a serious lack of maturity and lack of dedication that comes with many of the younger players. I like his size as a SF but that motor might be the issue. He is a terrible rebounder too, which is our real concern. Maybe McHale could get through to him.

My bet is they go with a vet at the final spot to hold the line until D-Mo is a go. There are better options for vet rebounder say Reggie Evans for example. That dude does one thing at an elite level and it's rebound the ball. Still over averaged over 14 rebounds per 36minute, that was 5th best in the league. He is always tops in reb/min.

Furkan is better than PJ and he's available.

PJ3 is not Royce White. He can still improve. Rockets have some great big man teachers in Dream and McHale. Even Josh Smith was able to rehabilitate his image and improve his game when he signed with Houston.

Lawson and Harden would certainly improve Perry's efficiency at the very least by feeding him on fast breaks and alley's. Fit and a new environment are relevant and its not impossible for the kid to evolve his game and his work ethic.

Not against Reggie Evans or even Chuck Hayes, but both guys are limited by age and length and athleticism. Both good rebounders and post defenders but neither are great in a switch defense or defending small ball 5's, which is the rage now, especially on the top teams. Just see a mound of very explosive clay in Perry Jones. If he busts, then you can always pick up a Reggie Evans type, they are always around. If he booms, then it could be JSmoove 2.0.

I'm gonna be honest... I don't know anything about him.

But looking at his stats... they are terrible.

He played in 41 games last year @ 13.2 minutes per game... and he averaged:

2.3 pts, 4.3 rebounds, 51.3% fg% and shot 48.1% from the free throw line.

Even if you go per 36:

    6.2 pts, 11.7 rebounds

Is he good on defense or something?

I know this is a PJIII thread but I have seen a few videos of Aldemir and it seems he can rebound, not sure about anything else. I think he is working on 3 point shot too, he made some in a preseason game.

His stats are not good but who knows what could happen working with Hakeem.

I don't mind if Morey goes after Dalembert or a young Aldemir. Given this might not be the best year for developing players I would think they would try Dalembert first. Both players by the way are nursing leg injuries.

Never said or thought he was Royce White. When I said lack of maturity and dedication I am basing that on the fact that OKC gave up on him quickly and gave a way a bunch just to distance themselves from him. Boston could have "molded" him if they saw something but they cut him too. Those facts speak to a lack of desire to have his abilities molded. Many athletic players bounce around from NBA team to NBA team then overseas to eventually washout. A few wake up and develop their craft and find a role in the NBA.

PJIII stats show that right now he is not a "good" player at any phase of the game. Being that we are looking making a deep run and injuries have been a concern we may need a guy to fill a few minutes a crucial points of the early season. While your points on Evans/Hayes might be correct on small ball switching; the fact that D-Mo is out for who knows how long, Howard needs to be saved for the playoffs and limited during the regular season. Jones is an average rebounder as a 4. Harrell plays hard but is a fouling machine and a rookie. Capela I love but is prone to foul trouble as well and needs to play heavy minutes at the 5. 8-10 minutes of Evans at the 4 next to Capela/Howard as a plug and play rebounder until D-Mo returns makes a ton of sense.

All in all Morey knows what that 15th spot needs most so if he takes on PJII or even Sanders I'll support the move just like I supported the roll of the dice on drafting Royce White. I just don't see Morey doing much more gambling on the roster at this point, he has already made his big wins... Harden, Howard, Lawson, Ariza and Brewer.

"The question in the NBA, and in life, isn't whether or not you can shoot. The question is, can you get your shot?" - Ralph Wiley

PJ3 was blessed with all the physical tools that tantalize NBA GMs, but I really don't have any interest in signing him given what a pivotal season this is for us. There's immaturity concerns, an over-inflated ego and a history of injuries (despite logging minimal minutes ). I'm not even sure what real value Perry would actually bring to Houston. Are a few flashy dunks and a handful of streaky jumpers worth it if Jones is blanking on the rest of the stat sheet and ignoring his defensive assignments? We're talking about a guy who has been surrounded by great players his entire career though oddly enough has yet to take the game seriously or even adopt a notable work ethic. Honestly, I think Perry is just happy to be in the L and see a guy who lacks the drive necessary to become a steady handed pro. I mean at the very least this dude should be chewing up NBA 2nd units and yet he can't even do that. If PJ3 truly wanted to commit himself to his craft then he would be out there fighting to earn meaningful minutes. Every time he hits the court is an opportunity to show the coaches that they can trust him by sticking to the game plan and by being willing to sacrifice other aspects of his game for the good of the team. He appears to be too cool to be bothered and that concerns me greatly. I'm not interested in a genetic freak who is only worried about getting his on the offensive end and in an inefficient manner at that. In the NBA you don't have to have it all to carve out a solid career, but you do have to do one thing exceptionally well, and PJ3 has yet to show me what exactly he does better than anyone else.
