At this point what do you have to lose? He may teach teammates what it means to give a damn. Say what ya want about Tebow but you can never question his heart.
Comparing the city of Jacksonville to the city of Houston is a terrible comparison. Whether they play well...or not Jacksonville had a hard time selling tickets. That has never been an issue for the Texans. The only numbers the ownership understands is ticket sales and merchandise sales...When those numbers are NOT met...we will see McNair the businessman. The guy has made billions not by being friendly or nice all the time. Unfortunately...for his "leisure time" activity known as the Houston Texans...they havent seen as much pressure from mgmt. When his NFL team, has to broadcast an empty stadium...he will get the message. Im sick and tired of complacent fans that accept this BS. No other major market city would tolerate this BS, but we do?
Tickets are already sold but there will be more empty seats in the stands. It happened when they went 2-14 a few years ago. People are not going to give up their PSL's. They paid too much for them, and there are a lot of fans that enjoy the tailgate party more than the game.
Completely disagree with your opinion. This team is devoid of talent. But for some reason, people actually think this is a team that just needs a slight tweak from mgmt. In the NFL, you have to have high picks in each round to replenish talent. If Tebow helps achieve that...it isn't a joke...its a means to an end. This team needs talent AND people that can use that talent into something worth watching.
You can disagree, but Tebow isn't even a QB, it would be a sign that the Texans went full on clown show.
The Texans already are a clown show. I don't care who they bring in but Mallett needs to be cut if BOB is going to maintain any control or respect from his players.
Tebow at qb? Haha and you thought Mallet's passes were off target. Paint his face and let the circus begin
Why would he have respect from his players as it stands? A large part of why there is a problem to begin with is because of how poorly BOB has done his job.
My point is, not selling tickets does not add any pressure to the owner. All these owners are the same. They want to win but they want to make money. Winning = more money. If the business is no longer profitable, they start looking at selling or possibly moving. He brought in Wade Philips to win. He hired Bill O Brien because he wants to win. He brought in Crennel because he wants to win. Jonathan Joseph, Manning, Wilfork, etc. all brought in not to make money, but to try and win. The problem isn't that he isn't trying; it's that what he's doing isn't working.
I could care less of a reset. This team needs to start getting better ASAP. If the coaches are going to be here next year, I want to see them coaching better. I want the players that are going to be here next year, to start playing better. Not so much wins and losses but progress.
Have you seen Tebow's career stats compared to Mallett? Once Mallett can hit a YPA of 6.71….29 total TDs to 7 INT…a 75 rating…and a playoff win…then come and talk to me. There isn't one thing Mallett can claim over Tebow, other than claiming victory in a cocaine snorting competition.
I don't want Tebow simply because he'll be a side show. He may be better than Mallett but there's a reason he hasn't had a job in 3 years. He couldn't catch on Philly where he seemingly would be a better fit for Chip Kelly's system than any other. But Chip went with Thad Lewis instead as his #3. You might say it doesn't matter because he'll be the backup. But it's Tebow. Idiots who've chastised OB for his QB flip flopping will be calling on him to start. Just give me a backup that nobody will care about, let Hoyer start the rest of the year, and end the circus side show surrounding the QB position.
It'll just be a different circus show where every team the Texans go up against with a halfway competent defense gets gifted 20 or 40 point leads by halftime. The only person we have to blame for this is BOB.
This team became a clown show as soon as Mallet became the starter. Tebow put up better stats against tougher competition. Bill OBrien thought someone worse than Tebow was the future. Let that sink in.
