Curing your own meats avoids these pitfalls.

Generally speaking I think all things cause Cancer
    cause well . .. cancer is big business (C O N SPIRACY!!!)

We do so many unnatural things to our food without fully understanding the long term effects
    nothing like this surprises me

OOO We tested it for 20 minutes and it didn't kill anyone so
using it for 20 yrs shouldn't hurt right??

Vegetarian for two years; vegan for over a year. No problems here.

I admire vegetarians and vegans, but people look at this too black/white. It's possible to eat meat and still avoid nitrates and processed meat. unfortunately they make it really difficult in this country to get affordable clean meat.

I think the main point of all these studies is EAT YOUR DAMN VEGGIES. Throw some brussels sprouts, broccoli, kale, squash, sweet potatoes and/or mushrooms in the oven at 400, add to brown rice or quinoa and sliced avocado and that's a seriously yummy, filling meal, no meat required.

WHO's findings should not surprise anyone with at least half a brain and a shred of common sense.

Everyone gets cancer. Some just die before they get that chance.

So you are 18 percent more likely to getting bowel cancer which has a very low occurrence to begin with. This warning is stupid.

In before the counter "study" that links bacon to being beneficial against some kind of cancer or disease.

I don't trust these studies. That being said, if you eat red meat everyday you are just asking for it.

In Hawaii they eat Spam a WHOOOOLE lot in many dishes. There are plenty McDonalds and places to chow down meat. Of course there's the sunlight uv rays. Native Hawaiians and Samoans LOVE to eat. Still Hawaii has LOWEST rate of cancer in the US.

Its because its mostly Asians living in Hawaii. They eat a lot more fish, rice and veggies than mainland US. There is still some overall portion control too (partly cuz food is so expensive there)
