Which is why he deserves zero benefit of the doubt... or any degree of "sympathy" just because he doesn't have the job he thought would be gifted to him.

Hey Mallet once you learn that the dirt is not an eligible receiver, then maybe you can start.. okay?

They should put Mallett in at NT to see how it feels to get hit around with a hangover.

Mallett says he got caught in traffic.

I'm not sure where he was coming from, but I rode from Galveston to the Woodlands to Bush yesterday, from 9am to about 1:30, and there was no traffic....

Oh I don't have any sympathy for him, not caring is wrong. That said, I understand why he wouldn't care. What's BOB gonna do, send him to Vietnam?

Fine... he deserves no "understanding" then. He's still getting paid millions of dollars, the least he could do was be a professional and care enough to show up.

He's an idiot... he should be fined the remainder of his salary for the season.

They don't have the ability to do that, and they can't do too much to him really considering they still need him in case Hoyer gets himself hurt.

What part and why? Did you have anything supporting that suggestion or were you just letting your feelz run wild?

    They can and they will.

You backed (and still seem to be backing) the most worthless and unprofessional player in Texans history...

I'm not backing him, I honestly don't care. BOB completely bungled this season and honestly I want both QB's and BOB gone for it. Also, let's be real, Mallett isn't any worse than Andre Johnson was his last 2 years in Houston.

Need him for what? This team isn't going anywhere. I don't care if the whole division sucks. The Texans can find someon else to be the backup QB. It doesn't have to be Mallett.

BOB doesn't want to get himself fired. If they pick just anyone up off the street and play them if Hoyer goes down, the Texans won't win another game. As it stands, he should be fired, but I think he wants to keep his job and he'll work to manage a moral victory to try and make McNair happy.

Didn't see any good Tom Savage threads to necro bump.

Why exactly did we put Savage on IR? His shoulder should be healed by now, right?

Were we that good at quarterback, that we could roll with Hoyer and Mallett? We were suffering at other positions, so we decided to go with two quarterbacks?

Can we LOL, just kidding about Savage being on IR?

Ha. What did Hoyer do, other than prove you wrong?

And you're still supporting Mallet. Ridiculous.

You think Hoyer proved me wrong? He did the exact opposite. The 2 times he faced legit defenses that put pressure on him, he cracked and played like ass. He looked good in garbage time with no pressure and against the Jags....but that doesn't prove me wrong about him.

Also, I'm not supporting Mallett, I personally don't care one way or the other and I don't want either of those QB's back next year.

It's unfortunate that you fully supported BOB's decisions to focus on these QB's and not draft or attempt to acquire a better one. Given you woeful ability to evauate QBs, you're really in no position to criticize anyone after the fact. Mallett didn't suck because of BOB's handling of him - he sucked because he's a terrible QB.

Andre Johnson in his 2nd to last season with Houston had over 100 receptions for 1400 yards, good for 3rd and 7th in the NFL. In what way, in your warped mind, is that around Mallett's level?

Sure you don't. You've spent umpteen weeks on here vouching for him and now he's basically shown to be incompetent both on and off the field.... And you still won't admit it.

Do you honestly expect any of your hot takes to be taken seriously from here on out? Honest question.

Just admit you couldn't have been further off on your expert assessment and expectations of Mallett.... Even though within that assessment, you've flipped-flopped about a dozen or so times there's no telling what your flavor of the month stance really is.

You do care. Otherwise you'd have abandoned this discussion a long time ago.

QB is obviously a problem, but it's not the Texans' biggest problem. There's no QB that they could have drafted that would make a significant difference with a defense as bad as RAC's system has produced this year.

Mallett is what he is, but BOB being a moron with how he handled the QB situation caused him to be a problem in the locker room.....made even worse by Hoyer's failure.

He was a malcontent in the locker room, it's pretty well known.
