I was pointing out his thinking was flawed in not seriously showing concern in getting a competent QB(although there was no one to be had this year) and filling the spot with a journeymen. It worked for him in year 1 and has backfired on him terribly in year 2.

Agreed Name one position where we are better this year than last year. Clowney . . . maybe Thanks Rocket River
That's true - but they're 1-4 because they didn't address the QB position in any way over the last 2 years. And that probably means they'll be bad next year too, because BOB's year #3 will either be new-retread-QB's year #1 or Rookie QB's year #1. QB is not a one-year fix - it's about building a foundation of a franchise. Unless you're going to go out and get a Peyton Manning, QB is going to be a work in progress, which is why you try to find a potential franchise guy as soon as possible so you can spend a few years figuring out if you're right. It doesn't matter that the rest of the team is mediocre - by the team the Texans find a QB and let him develop, most of the roster will have turned over anyway.
No, that's not why they're 1-4, they could have picked literally any QB drafted in the last 2 years and very likely have the same record since no QB drafted in the last 2 years looks to be all that good. Derek Carr is the best of the bunch and the Raiders are only 2-3. Blaming everything on the QB position is overly simplistic. The QB didn't cause Foster to miss the first several games, the QB didn't cause the defense to be garbage, the QB didn't cause any of it. Should we put work into fixing the QB position? Of course, but that's not a cure-all unless you luck into someone like Andrew Luck or Aaron Rodgers.
The logical side of me says that O'Brien and RAC are in trouble and could be gone tomorrow. The historian in me says McNair won't do anything for a few years.
I have always thougth that BOB has gotten a bad rap because of poor personnel decisions. It seems like in addition to **** player decisions that our coaching is **** too. I say fire everyone and release anyone that is a liability. It's time for a complete reboot.
This is a really awful thing to say, but the team might be better off if the plane crashes on the way back to Houston.
