Ok here are some of the official targets rockets are looking at Markieff Morris Taj Gibson Patrick Patterson *go ahead count it off* Pistons - multiple trade targets *actually pretty Instresting* Ryan Anderson Andrea Bargnani Thaddeus young *not likley nonetheless a target* Jeff green *also unlikely* spencer Hawes Main targets from the list would be Taj Gibson, Markieff Morris and Pistons. Carlos Boozer - Rockets are perusing boozer like crazy. Like him as a solid vet as a backup PF/insurance safety and would help make it easir to ship off one of ours PFs if not both. Larry sanders - this could honestly be a real possibility. As I stated they made contact which means something and with him coming off means less stress Also trading tjones and dmo for the right PF seems like a no big deal for rockets They seem contempt with doing so if it means landing that solid rotating starting PF and think capela *when Howard's playing* could pick up the slack at PF minute along with possibly Harrell/Dekker. This is why picking up boozer or sanders would make rockets feel a little more combofortable with the move but still regardless seem fine with doing it if it means getting who they want.
Too bad that to get Taj Gibson you have to give up a wing not any of DMO or Jones. Also the Bulls don't do trades. Don't know if the Suns can afford to pay money to Dmo/Jones when they already paying such an expensive backcourt and Len's extension next year. From Pistons I agree that it would be a perfect trading partner. Jones for Ilyasova and the other Morris and their second rounder.
Rockets like him and I mean really like him. In the eyes of rockets fills in more depth, a Vetern and can rebound and multiple ways to score the basket.
Thanks for the info. I appreciate you sharing even though you didn't have to. I do remember Codman also eluding to the fact that the Rockets are pursuing Carlos Boozer.
What do they see in boozer? That love affair is so mind boggling. If this was 2007 or 2008 maybe but 2015? Heckie nah!!!!
As I stated, adds depth, hits jumpers, can have him as insurance or a back up PF, good rebounder, big body and etc. He's slipped off a bit last few years but in the rockets eyes he can be a key aspect to the team. It doesn't mean a trade wouldn't happen though if they got him of anything it would encourage them to do so.
If he is brought on for the Vet min and plays garbage minutes and is for depth I think it's a good signing. Not sure how I feel about him being a key component on the second unit though. His defense is absolutely putrid.
If nothing else, it is painfully obvious that the Rockets will take it in the shorts when it comes to opposing power forwards. We probably can't trade for a top-of-the-line 4, but someone who fits our schemes better. Our best and/or obvious trade chips will be Brewer and either of our two main power forwards. Brewer would mean nothing earlier than December or January. Phoenix and Detroit have always seemed obvious trade partners.
