Didn't you just recently try to explain the difference between a team giving up 45 points vs. 7 points as one being an away game vs. one being a home game? Why do you still "contribute" to this thread?

Let me let you in on some very secret insider info - OU runs......the spread offense. That same magical spread offense you are in awe of.

Here's some more insider info - the spread offense doesn't also play defense!!! If you actually looked at TCU's scores this year, you'd see what an outlier our 7 point dud was.

Furthermore, the TCU team we played was not the same as the one from last year - that is the "ridiculous" comparison. I take it you weren't aware of all of the injuries TCU faced. I posted a link earlier in this thread.

Maybe I'm trying to live up to the high standard you've set. Ever think of that? I'm not there yet, but I'll sure keep trying.

You never post a legit argument with any support. And when you are proven wrong, you don't fess up to it. Either concede, bring up better support or arguments, or just don't post anything. 16,000 posts and you haven't learned the basics?

Looks like a done deal with Nike:

Texas reaches 15-year deal to stay with Nike

Financial terms unclear at this point, but source said totals will be 'higher than Michigan'

    Updated 3:40 p.m. Wednesday

University of Texas officials have reached a 15-year agreement with Nike in what is expected to be the richest shoe and apparel deal in college sports, the American-Statesman has learned.

Two sources familiar with the negotiations said the talks are complete. However, the contract must be forwarded to the UT System Board of Regents for final approval.

A UT athletic department spokesman declined to comment.

The contract’s total value is expected to approach $200 million, one source said, but it would certainly be “higher than Michigan.” The Wolverines signed a 15-year deal with Nike this summer worth an estimated $169 million. At the time, it was widely hailed as the biggest deal in college sports.

Texas’ deal will likely blow past Michigan’s. The Longhorns have been the No. 1 seller of T-shirts, hats and other merchandise for nine straight years, according to the Collegiate Licensing Company rankings.

School officials have been tight-lipped about the entire process for weeks. The school abruptly cancelled a scheduled meeting with Under Armour executives on Oct. 4. It was expected that Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank himself would make a case why UT should leave Nike, the school’s partner since 2000.

Nike officials had one ace up their sleeve the entire time. The company, based in Beaverton, Ore., had a contractual right of first refusal clause in its current deal with Texas. That meant even if Under Armour offered a sky-high price, Nike officials would have had the opportunity to match it.

It was believed UT officials wanted to stick with Nike after the abrupt firing of former athletic director Steve Patterson.

Interim AD Mike Perrin, who could not be reached for this story, showed up at the press box for the Texas-TCU game wearing Nike shoes. “They’re very comfortable,” Perrin said.

Interesting that a paid site is reporting that Michigan has not yet actually signed their contract with Nike to make sure the upcoming Texas deal didn't blow past theirs. Don't think this has any bearing on our deal but seems like we are willing to establish our own market value since we did not officially field the UA offer and do not have a benchmark deal to go off of.

Really need to win today, or else all that good mojo from the OU game will be gone just like the TCU game killed all the positive vibes from Heard's good play.

Beating K-State has been harder than beating OU, I can't for the life of me figure out why we have had so much trouble with them

Good win. They have 3 winnable games ahead that could do a lot to salvage their recruiting season and take pressure off Strong until next year. He has to get that 3rd year.

Hoping he can make a splash with a good offensive coordinator pickup.

Ball was soaked and Heard told coaches he wasn't confident throwing it. Not a pretty game by any means but a win nonetheless.

Think we will see a Traylor/Norvell co-oc next season. Not a splash but interested to see what Traylor can do.

Why are these guys such a great fit? We pay Strong $5M a year. We can't afford a top notch off. coordinator?

I understood the rain factor but k state was still throwing the ball but if heard told strong he wasn't confident then that makes sense. I'd much rather them start letting gray or foreman start punching it in at the goal line instead of swoopes but get in where you fit in I guess.

K-State also failed miserably at throwing the ball. As for the goal line, Swoopes has been incredible in 3rd and 4th and short situations for the last several games. Why wouldn't you want him running that play? So far, everyone knows exactly what's coming and no one can stop it. He's basically like OU's Bell-Dozer from a few years ago.
