Thats a nice map. The colors in new york are much starker/dense. The first time I went to LA, I remember wondering where all the black people were!

Your bias and ignorance is blinding you from seeing the reality. Calling Dwight a typical lazy black man is about as racist as you can get. The association of blacks = lazy that is why they are not successful is so sad.

Being a troll requires some level of intelligence. You do not reach that level. I'm putting you on "ignore" and I invite you to do the same to me.

It's more valuable here than most other places on the planet, especially some hellholes where constitutional alignments and military aggression, to say nothing of economic or educational opportunities, are still being conceived on the basis prehistoric tribal affiliation.

The returns on academic or technical self-enrichment, particularly with a narrow focus, adherence to a sufficiently structured and grounded goal set, and contained or strategically focused recreational and social habits, can virtually guarantee not only economic and vocational stability: but in this country, open the doors up to intellectual, creative and entrepreneurial experiences that allow the crafting of a still wholly authentic identity and outlook completely independent of one's race or upbringing.

Alternately one can simply emulate the choices and behavior of those who have already achieved desired outcomes, even easier still just foster relationships with those in authority by mirroring their tastes and values and knowing how to bank and cash favors. The key impediments to all these strategies are a basic misunderstanding of the flow of information and resources between different social and institutional sets, having the hubris to eschew those cues out of resentment, some abstract sense of rebellion, or the delusion that harboring either will achieve some greater moral victory.

Of course anyone can be suspicious of black people, but the reason they are suspicious of black people shouldn't be because they are black. They shouldn't assume that a black person is probably a criminal because they are black.

The USA is very poor in terms of economic mobility. Don't you know?

I'd say institutionally racist and right wing policies are to blame. You are better off achieving the "american dream" in more progressive nations anyway.

Incredible, incredible amount of rep directed my way. Although flattered, validation is not what I seek. That is the opium of lesser men. All I seek is change.

Unfortunately, hiding in the shadows nodding your head is not the key to progress. You only enable the behavior of whiny millionaires like John Henson and those who try living through him.

The only way forward is to have a voice, an honest opinion, and let it be heard in public. The masses have been defeating themselves for too long - it's time we give them back the power.

    The power, of knowledge.

Okay, well the black kid pulling seven figures after getting a free ride to a flagship research university for doing P.E. with 4 - 6 months off a year would seem to indicate otherwise. You keep whining about Bill Clements and standardized testing, though.

Yeah that's the exception not the rule.

Let me ask you this. What is the problem then - why do blacks not succeed?

Are black people genetically lazier? How come other poor do better and rise up to success but not blacks?

    What's the real issue?

Wow, Sweet Lou, I think you may have sorta answered your own question but still are way off. Just look at your question!!! The deck is not stacked against you!! It has nothing to do with genetics. We are all genetically equal but if you are taught the deck is stacked against you then you will start to believe it,even if it isn't the truth. We were all created equal and have equal rights and opportunities in this country but it is what you do with your opportunity that counts.

For a supposedly smart guy, you're remarkably (and consistently) obtuse on this issue.

Do not take him seriously - Sweet Lou has been exposed as a troll.

Rather than accepting you have to take what you've got and make the best of it, which every minority has done in America, he prefers playing the victim and hurling accusations of racism at anyone asking him to think like an adult. This is after he said all non-black immigrants were the best and brightest of their countries and blacks were a broken people.

I don't care what race he is - but this much is evident. He needs love and understanding in his life.

I fully know he is a troll but I still hold out a little hope he will see the light one of these days. Deep down he is probably a good guy with good intentions but was taught the deck is stacked against him and it blinds him from the truth. His post I answered said a whole lot. If he thinks blacks are not genetically equal to all other races then he is truly lost. If he can't see this is a cultural issues with blacks teaching their kids the deck is stacked against them as opposed to other minorities teaching their kids that this is America and you can succeed if you work at it then there is no hope for him.

So why are Blacks teaching their kids that the cards are stacked up against them?
I'll assume you answer is "entitlement". Then I'll ask you why are Blacks "more entitled"? You'll say "culture". Then I'll ask what makes blacks in the U.S. more predisposed to this type of 'culture'... and then you would be forced to accept two paths of answers

    1. Genetic predisposition which you obviously will not explicitly state because you don't want to perceived as a racist and labeling another race genetically inferior is as racist as it can get.

    2. Or it's 400 years of institutionalized racism with 300 years of it being slavery and 100 years of it being Jim Crow laws and Black Codes that THEORETICALLY ended in 1964 with legislation, however we all know legislation doesn't end racism.

Answer two would be inconvenient for you because then you would have to admit that African Americans have a legitimate gripe.

What?????? Totally ridiculous. This may be the stupidest post in D & D history. Why blacks teach their kids the deck is tacked against them is a cultural problem. There are way too many examples of black people succeeding in life without playing the victim card. If you teach kids the deck is stacked against them then it will impede their success, If you teach them they will get out of life what they put into it they will probably succeed. Your are just as much a troll as Sweet Lou.

Sigh... I guess we'll play the game.

So why are Black parents teaching their children that the cards are stacked against them?

Sigh.... back at you!!! You tell me but that is the reason they do not succeed in life at the same rate of other minorities! There is no game. They are genetically equals. Racism is a cop out to avoid the truth.

So you aren't going to answer?

Here is a novel concept for you. If racism exists, then it isn't a cop out.

Oh my goodness are you naive... Does racism exist?? The answer is a big fat YES, but it is exist in ALL races and will always be there. Does it play a major role in black people not succeeding in life in this day in age??? That answer is a big fat NO!!!
