I know it's anecdotal, but I have several friends who work for the DNC who were hoping Biden would run. So maybe that influenced the amount of hype I saw regarding a Biden run. Based on your article, however, it looks like most of the pundits in the mainstream media expected a Biden run. Saying it was just GOP pundits is cherry-picking.

yep, keep telling yourself that Karl.

Though really I don't know how a self-respecting republican can look at that field and pick a favorite. That "let''s go back to the 50's without the tax rate" is such a fantasy. Everything always moves toward complexity. If we adapt and embrace it, it yields stability, if we resist it yields conflict because change is inexorable, information is always increasing.

I seriously get dumber reading your posts. Both on politics and especially on energy related topics.

Let's consider this post as an indicator of your stupid.

Ms. Clinton doesn't play stupid, she plays political discourse with a filter of electability. On this level it would be stupid to say anything publicly without considering the public effect and the spin the FAUX doctors can cut out of context, like "what does it matter?".

Mr. Biden has a fairly long record of public service achievements. It would be pretty hard to stretch anything he's said or done to Bachman/Palin type levels of stupid. I would consider any examples you could post.

Mr. Sanders is actually the exact opposite of 'preys on stupid'. He has an unwavering 40 year history of supporting the middle and underclass striving to give them equal enjoyment and opportunity in the face of bought privilege.

So being that your funny post is 100% assbackwards, it would appear you brought the stupid.

Since I've been out of the country I listened to the whole debate yesterday and have just skimmed through this thread. The one thing that I find interesting about this thread is that it does seem to show how male dominated the D&D is regarding how little, or dismissive, is made regarding Hillary Clinton's performance. From my discussions with women including my GF whose politics are far closer to Sanders than to Clinton's they feel she won the debate largely due to how she stood up as a woman to a field of men and adroitly used that to her advantage. The fact that she used humor and wit such as her bathroom joke played very well. While she sought to use this as an issue in 2008 she appears much better at it now.

There is plenty of reason to not like Hillary Clinton as there is much evidence to show that she is an opportunist who changes positions but I think many among both the GOP and left-leaning Democrats fail to grasp exactly why she is popular and it isn't just a matter that her married name is Clinton. If you know anything about Hillary Clinton's background prior to 2000 she certainly was qualified to be Senator considering her long service as both a lawyer and in political campaigns and certainly by 2008 she was definitely qualified as secretary of state. Also while many dismissed her background as First Lady she was unlike any other First Lady and had been intimately involved with major policy decisions during her husband's presidency. She was probably as involved and on some issues more so than VP Al Gore.

Besides that you also have to look at why is the show "Madame Secretary" which is unabashedly modeled after an idealized Hillary Clinton is so popular.

Hillary Clinton is considered the front runner not just because the Democrats can't find another candidate who is better but because there actually is a large group of people who find her both very capable and very appealing. Something that most of Clutchfans D&D can't seem grasp.

Tea Leoni is not modeled on Clinton other than being a woman SoS. She came from the CIA, she acts on her intuition not on focus group responses, she maintains a sensitivity and feminine-ness.

    carry on

So Webb and Chafee have dropped out and Biden has chosen not to insert himself into this idiocy even though he is an idiot. That leave the Dems with a liar, a socialist, and a nobody.

MC, sadly you may be right. We have allowed a president to more than double the national debt on his watch with the idiot rebulicans giving him everything he wants. America has become fairly stupid electing an idiot who is bankrupting this country all the while the idiot republicans are rubber stamping the whole thing. If we are stupid enough to elect another big spending liberal / socialist democrat then we deserve what we get. We are getting really close to the point of no return when it is too late to right the idiotic and utter irresponsible financial decisions made by the left in this country. You may win the next election but America will lose when this country topples under our own idiotic and irresponsible financial decisions.

I find her appealing for the same reason others dislike her. She is practical and smart.

I'm certain that anyone who judges Obama's handling of the national debt as a negative from the sheer notion of the national debt "doubling" has never taken a Calculus course. It's called "rate of change" buddy. How about you graph the national debt with the year as the X axis and the debt as the Y axis for the past 20 years and differentiate and then come back to us.

I have no reason to believe it isn't. This is what majority of conservatives believe.

For those Democrats who can't understand why someone, such as myself, would never vote for Clinton, here is one of the reasons why:
