IDK maybe the Pacer would make that trade or could do better. But I personally would not give up all that front court talent unless we were getting back a stud rebounding player that can shoot from the corner.

Capela could be our starting C next season if Howard is #1 Hurt (very possible) #2 demands max $$ for max years (see his agent) #3 Harden decides Howard is the problem and lets Morey know his feelings (say we have another tough series loss and in the loss Howard melts down at a key point and gets ejected). Granted a slight reach but not out of the realm of possibility.

For the record I love what Howard has done for us thus far in the play-offs but next year a 30 year old center with 30,000 minutes knees and back, relying on athleticism, for major $$ vs a young developing center makes me reluctant to even talk about Capela being on the block.

    Lawson
    Harden
    Ariza
    George
    Howard

That's like the best starting five in the last decade. How can you doubt that we'd do it? The doubt is if Indiana would do it. All we'd lose is backup pg, injured PF on one year deal and a second year big who had two ok games in the playoffs. You can replace Capela. You can't find another Paul George.

Your team looks nice on paper but there is only one ball... Lawson and Harden my have a hard time playing together now George, too?
YHoward did give up touches for the good of the team last year. He is going into a contract year so he may not be so nice this year. He will want to get his last max deal and needs points plus rebounds to get paid.

    They wouldn't. EVER.

You don't know Indiana or Larry Bird if you think they would make such a trade ever. Esp for such a crappy offer. They can get much better packages than Bev Capella and DMO.

Most people complain about our power forward because of defense and rebounding against elite power forwards. Paul George wouldn't solve that issue. George would be sharing the ball with Harden and Lawson. I don't see that as a good fit along with Howard dreaming of getting the ball on the block at least 6-8 times a game.

I placed George at PF because I don't predict further moves Morey would make, lets say to trade Ariza for PF and move George to SF.
Have you seen team USA play at the Olympics? They seem to be clicking well and sharing the ball. This wouldn't even be close to USBNMT. Goal is championship, not personal stats.

If going to dreamcast then keep Capela and D-Mo and trade George for Bev, TJ and Dekker. Will even give them Fo Sammiches and all world athlete Chris Walker, and that's grudgingly.

My fantasy football team is kind of like the Rockets.....a lot of talent and depth (not to brag...). Because I don't have any holes to fill, I've focused on the elite fantasy players as targets while my current players continue to rise in value.

This is where the Rockets are. There aren't many smaller trades that make sense for us, so we're better off waiting to see if any of the big fish shake loose during the season.

I continue to believe the most likely (but still unlikely) option is Al Horford. Atlanta is weak at the wings, and an injury to Korver could really damage their offense. The east actually looks a little better this year, so it's not impossible that Atlanta is out of the top 4 by mid-season and rumors start to float that Horford wants to move on. This could be LaMarcus Aldridge part 2.

Another guy that is flying under the radar that could be an interesting target is Derrick Favors. Utah just drafted Trey Lyles and might be willing to part with Favors if we load them up with young wings (McDaniels and Dekker).

I personally don't want Favors. Just don't see greatness in him. I see a steady baller that when he goes up against the best big men in the league, he loses the matchup more than he wins it. Good player. But don't want to invest that much assets and salary in a guy that won't win those matchups often enough. Not to mention his lack of shooting range (outside the paint) hinders the critical spacing we need to be a great offensive team.

Atlanta has a system and out of this system a wing will be able to emerge that will be able to fit in. EIther Hardaway jr or Bazemore or Thefolosha one of those or more will be able to do what Caroll did sooner or later either by committee or all together.
So it's possible but highly unlikely that Atlanta falls under top4 esp with their division where they face Orlando and Charlotte 4 times each.
Esp that now they got Splitter Horford will be much more happy that he won't have to play all the time C.

Favors is severely underrated has developed a midrange jumper and is one of the better young combo bigs in the game that noone talks about -and with a great contract too! But Utah doesn't need wings they need guards. They got Burks, Hayward , Booker, Ingles ,Hood (who is very good!) and then some even more depth with C.Johnson and Millsap. They have much better depth at the wings than the rockets and more young talent there and more proven than McDaniels and Dekker. Not good trading partners with Houston based on needs. Plus Lyles is a rookie and has shown very little so far to even make them think of moving away from an up and comer like Favors.-and Lyles agent btw is Rich Paul. Who will want to deal with Rich Paul?

If Utah made Favors available, teams will be lining up. 24 years old who average 16/8 last season and plays on both side of the court.

Taj Gibson? 9M a year and been hearing that he's probably available.

I am absolutely clueless about the cap and all that but I think he'd be a great fit here.

The Rockets would have to match salaries dollar for dollar ....

Depends upon who you think is expendable and I'd hesitate to trade anyone besides KJ & TJ .... Combined they account for $4.97m leaving you $4.03m short.

What are your thoughts on bringing in LeBron to be a stretch 4 off the bench?
