He hasn't shot that way in a game though. But if he can shoot without using so much leg, it will be better for him especially later in the season when legs are dead tired.
That's how I used to shoot when I was a kid and didn't have enough strength in my wrists, so I'd shoot off my chest. Brewer's in-game shot is unforgettable, because of how much he kicks his legs in.
