That was a convenient answer 5 years ago for Brooks. But after that we traded for Harden and we did extend him.

While I do believe that we should let DMo go through RFA, I would give second thought to it if DMo were agreeable to a 4/50 type deal. I personally think he'll significantly outperform that contract and that he'll be very trade-able if we needed to move him.

Harden flashed a lot more potential in his rookie contract than DMo has. Not a good comparison as DMo has yet to have a consistent back-to-back seasons, unless you want to count consistently poor back-to-back seasons in year 1 and 2.

There's no way a floor spacing pf/c is going to accept a 4/50 unless there were some big questions regarding health. If he shoots +38% behind the line to go along with 15.3 pts and 6.3 rebounds, someone is going to offer him the max.

Yeah, and I think that's a distinct possibility that he'll do that and they will do that. That's why I'm wondering how low he'd go on an extension and if it would be worth signing him to one now. Personally I'm for moving out Bev, Terrence, and possibly either McDaniels or Terry in favor of pieces/parts/expirings/picks if DMo comes back strong. So I'm wondering about a possible extension.

I'd let him go through RFA. Still think he stays a Rocket.

I don't get the need to roll the dice for less depth just to sign a player with potential but a big question mark on his health.

Extend D-MO. Trade TJones at the deadline.

Harden is a top 5 player.

No one is getting extended for a myriad of reasons.

Its definitely DM plan. Go to off-season grab super-star, star or great FA, resigned DMo.

Doesnt' hurt to talk to know where everyone stands. If I was Morrey I would offer Vucevic money now that he's hurt and try to play the safety card. Otherwise not worth it.

IF IT WAS A TIME TO EXTEND RFA IT IS NOW. The comparisons with the past are completely useless.

I also think that Tellem will try to go after Horford and if he doesn't succeed he will go after Jones.
The Rockets will be under the most pressure from every other team in the league next summer if noone gets traded because they wont' have so much capspace and will have two desirable RFA. No other team will be in that situation and so the vultures will aim straight for Jones and DMO.
And if we have a deep playoff run the price will be even higher as it happens always to retain the RFAs.
Especially if Durant takes his time making his decision- and you know that he likely will since he will have every team in the league on their knees with capspace to offer him.

I do not think they will extend. Furthermore, I think there is a chance that both TJones and DMo are both NOT on the team next season. I'm not saying it's likely they will both be gone, I'm just saying there is a chance.

What if DMo has significant problems with his back this season? What if he has more surgery on his back this season? Are the Rockets going to want to bring back DMo if he isn't healthy?

What if Harrell has a fantastic season this year? Harrell isn't a stretch PF, but that may not be all that important if he's a great player in every other aspect of the game. If Harrell turns out to be a stud, then there definitely is no need to bring back Jones.

I'm just saying, don't assume that DMo or TJones will be on the team next year. If DMo can't get healthy, we might see something like Harrell and someone like Ryan Anderson, or some other free agent added to the team.

I do not see the Rockets extending DMo with his health in question. The Rockets will have options next summer.

I voted for RFA. But I'm curious as to what extension number DMo would accept. If he would accept a starting salary between $10-12 million right now in an extension....that's tempting.

I would extend on the cheap cause he's "injured." Then it becomes a big value deal when he recovers.

I'm not a doctor and have no information on his medicals. I think Rockets wait for RFA unless they are comfortable with DMo's health and DMo wants the guaranteed money instead of betting on his health.

Doesn't make sense for either party right now. DMo has too much to prove, and the Rockets want cap space next summer.

Also not comfortable with his health, so I wouldn't extend. Might extend on a real lowball deal, but then that's probably not advisable for Motie. If he does have more injuries this season, I think we want someone different as our starting 4. And we'll have hurt our flexibility to do that if he's extended. All signs point to RFA next offseason.

Can't sign him now we have too much at stake this summer with durant and Howard becoming free agents gotta be sure we can make a run at them I'm not sure d mo is really worth all that money yet let see his play this year before we go all in for him
