And that graphic is horribly wrong and there's literally no rationale behind the "equalizing" between crimes. It's elementary and catered to fellow idiots who follow sensationalized BS. And that's not even taking into account the infinitely complex social dynamic which created the foundation upon which the crimes happen in the first place.

No matter which say you shake it, the store workers asking the police to stay to watch Henson shop, after Hensen was identified as a NBA player for their citites team is beyond ridiculous, and shows how off the workers where.

 

The math behind this is so childish and poor.

Example community where every crime is not race-influenced.
- 1000 people; 900 (90%) white, 100 (10%) black
- 10% of both groups are violent criminals, so 90 white and 10 black
- Each of those criminals committed crimes equivalent to the racial split, so of the 90 white crimes, 10% of the victims were black, so 9 W on B crimes. And of the 10 black crimes, 90% of the victims were white, so 9 B on W crimes.
- In other words, the post "misleading" part is done by someone who probably hasn't completed Pre-Algebra.

And as for the 5x more raw crimes statistic, the socio-economic determinants of violence can be used pretty conclusively when you factor in the sheer disparity in household income between white and black households.

There are as many murders by blacks as there as murders by whites. There are approximatly 5x more whites, that graph still stands. If you want to disprove it, bring overall crime rate by each race. Obviously you wont, since it would disprove your argument completely.

And your chart doesn't add anything to this topic. The crime rate is higher amongst the black population, nobody is arguing that, but to ignore the countless factors that go into it (including the socio-economic ones), is laughably simpleton and FoxNews-esque.

You could chalk the whole episode up to a big misunderstanding... until you read all the justifications for active racial profiling in this thread and in social media generally. Then you know that even if this was all an innocent misunderstanding, you still have fellow citizens all around you more than willing to sell you down the river if you don't conform.

 

This thread was great to identify new ignore list members, I'll say that.

It also makes certain posters' overzealous disdain for certain players and celebration of others make a whole lot more sense.
