I think the Rockets will win between 53-57 games. I'm factoring in Lawson's suspension, Dwight resting back to backs, and Harden playing fewer minutes. If the Rockets win 60, fantastic, but I won't be bummed if they "only" win 55 games.

Harden will have less minutes because we will blow out more teams, like how Curry got less minutes last year.

Harden will not leave close games. McHale won't sit him anymore than Pops sat Duncan at equal age.

Historical fact lost to current trends: Pops played Duncan 39 mpg for Duncan's first 7 years.

To me just because 3-5 teams became better that doesn't mitigate the improvement the Rockets made enough to predict the Rockets fall into a stagnate win/lose variance. Then again you often see a regression to the mean after success especially overachieving success. I still believe however we fall between 58-62 wins with an average amount games missed for injury.

If the team can stay healthy, 58+.

I picked 55-59. If they remain healthy(or in D-Mo's case get healthy), Lawson has a season equal to last year, and the young guys continue to develop, it's certainly possible they win 60+.

The problem is the competition in the West is brutal. There's a reason 2-6 remained unsettled til literally the final day of last season. The Rockets could have another really good year and still be fighting for home court right up until the playoffs start.

It'd be pretty disappointing if we can't at least match the total from last year. I say around 58 wins, but 60 is very reasonable as well.

Between 56-62 games. Adding Lawson should net at 3-5 more wins. If we're healthy this season, I will go with 62 wins.

Think you mean 98-0. 82 regular season + 16 playoff

My regular season prediction assuming better health then last year is 59-23.

If you had asked me a few weeks before training camp, I might have said around 58-60. Now, with all the injuries piling up, news of Harden and Howard's condition prior to training camp coming to the surface and our team looking completely lost with Beverley at the helm, I have my serious doubts we will even win as much as last year. There's a good chance that Howard does not play / have limited minutes in a lot of games. There's a good chance we will start off the season cold because of adjustments, a lot of missed together in camp and the level of competition. Then there's the worry about TJ & D-Mo. I'd say around 54-56 games maybe.

I would say around 70 But I'm going to settle for 65 accounting for McHale inevitably losing us about 5 games

Anythign less than 65 and McHale needs to go

3 pointers + Point in paint is the winning fomula. It brought us a very successful season last year, but the problem is many teams are going to be copy cats to copy this effiective fomula and do well this season so I am not that optimistic that we can win as many games as last year.

65 wins is possible if this team stays healthy, which is unlikely.

Lawson should add 2 to 4 wins. 60 wins is possible if the team has about the same number of health issues as last year.

Reasons the Rockets will win more this year:
    • Lawson
    • Better health
    • DMo and Jones being in the last year of their rookie contracts
    • Having the core rotation return
    • Harden will be better (still a year or two from what will be his prime)

If the Rockets were in any other division I could see 60+ wins. But in the Southwest there are five good teams to compete with. All five will be in the same 45 to 55 range again this year.
