Hmm. I was buying Feigen's whole "they'd be playing if this was regular season" bit initially, but.... hmm. With only 1 preseason game remaining, you'd think guys would be going if they could.

Would be really nice to see ONE game with the full likely rotation (minus DMo, I guess).

I think that's exactly what it is. I haven't paid attention to who's playing and for how many minutes, but the Cavs I believe are winless in the preseason and the Spurs just secured their first victory at home against the Pistons yesterday. So based on the results so far, it looks like the teams that have title aspirations are taking it easy with their key players and aren't prioritizing winning any of their preseason games.

I think our medical staff is just being extra cautious.

Look at the Pelicans if you want to see a banged up team. They have some real injuries to their squad:

Omer Asik - 3 weeks (calf strain)
Alexis Ajinca - 4-6 weeks (hamstring)
Tyreke Evans - ??? (sore knee) There is a rumor floating around today that he may need surgery. Just a rumor, but it's out there.
Luke Babbitt - ??? (hamstring strain)
Eric Gordon - 3-4 weeks (shoulder)
Norris Cole - 6 weeks (high ankle sprain)
Jrue Holiday - minutes restriction (15 mpg due to recovering from stress fracture)
Quincy Pondexter - won't be back until sometime in November (recovering from knee surgery in May)

That's 8 guys from their regular rotation with weeks-long injuries.

That's what I'm saying. Especially with Howard, it feels like we'll be lucky to get 50 games out of him this season.

It's going to be real interesting to see if Dwight opts out of his final year.

    I'm with you.

Look at it this way: we pretty much already know what kind of player Anthony Davis is. But Dekker? Who the hell knows? He could be the next Larry Bird with a dash of MJ. At this point, no one knows what he will be. So I could see NOP taking that deal and gambling on Dekker being the white LeBron.

All these players just resting with faux injuries - just bring on the season already.

I rather not play anyone. Meaningless game, Don't mistake missing games with missing practices. I don't think thats the case at all. We should rest our guys every chance we get.

It is just laughable there are 8 NBA pre-season games. HEALTH is just too important and there aren't a ton of guys playing to make a team (unlike the NFL). Cut it to 4 games please.

This. Cut it to four and start the regular season two weeks earlier. Then you can take out most back to backs.

They still need the same amount of practice time before the season starts. If you move the season up 2 weeks you eliminate 2 weeks of practice. They only get about a month to begin with. You'd be giving teams only 2 weeks of practice.

And most of these guys aren't getting injured in games. They are getting injured in practice. So cutting down the preseason games isn't really going to stop injuries from happening.

Main issue for me is on-court chemistry. I don´t think Lawson main impact is going to be at scoring, I would gess his main target is going to be to keep the offense flowing through collaboration with our big men, especially with Dwight and Capella rolling after PnRs.

I haven´t seen the first PnR with Lawson and I strongly believe this is going to play a strong part on wether Dwight wants to keep his career here or not.

If you're only playing four preseason games stretched out over two weeks, then that's plenty of practice time. You could start training camp a week earlier, extending the time by one week.

With less preseason games and less back to backs in the regular season, there will be more practice time available.

And I'm not necessarily advocating for less preseason games because of injuries.
