Well first lets talk about Fi. Put aside the fact that you're connected to two cellular networks. At the end of the day, their combined networks still aren't as vast as AT&T or TMobile.

The other thing to note is that TMobile is doing an aggressive overbuild at the moment and will cover more or less cover Sprint's network by itself by year's end. The only benefit of combining the networks is avoiding network congestion by having your phone switch between the two.

Fi only makes sense if you are a single user that uses very little data (because Google will charge you per kb instead of selling you data that you wont use) or if you frequently travel abroad and want higher international roaming speeds than TMobile's current international roaming speed.

Other than that, there's no compelling reason for Project Fi. Three of the 4 networks (TMobile, AT&T and Sprint) offer wifi calling on iphones so the benefit of wifi calling on Fi doesnt matter either. Tmobile (thanks to full IMS core support) takes it a step further and allows you to connect multiple apple devices to your phone number so you can wifi call from any apple device even if your phone is turned off. (cool feature but probably useless for 99% of people)

If you like iOS, stick with it. The problem with Google Fi is that it came a few years too late. It would have been pretty impressive if they'd rolled this out 2 or 3 years ago.

If you are interested in switching carriers, there are several other alternatives that I could suggest. What carrier are you on now?

AT&T still hasn't enabled WiFi calling in Houston yet. Every time I try to activate it I get a mention that it's not available in my area yet.

Do you have voice over LTE enabled? I want to say AT&T tied the features together.

I've been a heavy Google Voice/Hangouts user for the past 6 years, I basically went all in and made it my primary number from day one, so this is the final step to what I've wanted since then.

Being able to text/call/etc from phone, tablet, PC, etc, makes it appeal to me, and all being integrated together, rather than having to have a separate number from your carrier and then a GV number masking it.

Although, I'm way in the minority in this setup, I would imagine.

Sprint already has this. You can directly integrate Google Voice with your Sprint number already.

Sadly its Sprint and their PR is garbage so no one knows about this. But its been around for years.

I was on Project Fi for one month. It's a great service, but I needed more data. I was on a 3GB plan, barely went over, but the entire time I was watching my data use very closely. I went back to my T-Mobile plan of two lines and unlimited data for 100 bucks. If they ever adopt an unlimited plan or other carriers start charging more for unlimited data, I might switch back.

Forgot to mention, everything was SUPER easy with Project Fi. Signing up was easy. Cancelling was a click of a couple of buttons. I didn't need support, but apparently it takes just a few minutes and is painless. THAT is how it should be. I shouldn't need to speak to anyone.

Im switching to Project Fi this week as I made to move when I bought the Nexus 5X. I spend most of my time either at home or work where I have wifi, so I think its a great fit for me. 3GB is more than enough when im not at home/work. Been with tmobile since 2003

I think you'll love it then. Especially if you are basically always on WiFi, then you'll get credit back for the data you didn't use. It's pretty sweet. Data Stash vs. credit back...gimme money.
