I haven't outlawed adoption, and neither have Western European governments with lower abortion rates and liberal abortion laws.

What policy do you propose to increase adoptions to fill in the gap here?

I can think of a set of policies involving contraceptives, scientific research, maternal welfare initiatives that you should be putting your money into if you want to reduce the abortion rate rather than just talking about it (and yeah, PP happens to be on the leading edge of that).

But if it's that, work on improving adoption. Allow everyone, including same sex couples to adopt. Make the process easier and less expensive. Educate woman that's another choice. Those are all things worthwhile and can help, even if a little bit.

Beating your head to against a wall to make abortion illegal and supporting policies to increase unwanted pregnancies isn't going to do anything but just going to make it worse.

I do not. An amoeba is a living creature. It is a single cell organism. Tons of bacteria. I don't know where you got the idea that a single cell cannot be a living creature, but it sure was not from science.

The morning after pill (aka Plan-B) is technically not an abortifacient. Regardless, I oppose it as one of the processes by which it can operate is murderous, and there is no way to determine which of its effects is being used.

In the same way that stabbing a five year old is the same thing as blowing up a 30 year old, yes. They are different processes used against people of different ages and with different abilities to care for themselves that have the same outcome.

2. Do I have to do everything? I would assume that those wanting to adopt are working on that. How about tasking that to pro-choicers since, in their hearts, they really revile abortion.

Well, you didn't even mention adoption in your initial response; my question was tongue-in-cheek to prod you into including it as part of the solution. That is a telling detail, I think.

The best policy would seem to be available birth control and birth control education and less cumbersome adoption processes. I know several families who have adopted and their story is that it is easier to get a baby from Africa than from Tennessee. Something is wrong there. Another friend got his girls from Eastern Europe and still another from Germany.

Talking about it is the first thing that needs to be done.

 

Set a newborn in a crib and leave it unattended. How long will it survive? Dependency on others does not end once one leaves the womb.

 

You have established no causal relationship between liberal abortion law and low abortion rate. Contraception and sex education are issues separate from the medical "procedure" known as abortion.

Pick your own source. I scanned through several of them and most indicate that there are plenty of parents wanting to adopt. One source, albeit CATHOLIC, claimed that there were 36 parents waiting to adopt for every child adopted.

Obviously we have to liberalize the adoption laws but I fear that the bottleneck there goes hand in hand with the pro-Choice initiative.

 

Yes a newborn that can breathe. In very short order it will have no waste with no food intake. You get the idea... dependence extends way beyond the birth canal.. for years.
