I respect your opinion but people like me think government overreach is a huge problem. We do not want to destroy government but do want to reduce government control. Are people like me right or people like you right??? We both believe 100% that our positions are the right one. This polar opposition is fascinating!!!!
people evolve. if not we would have overt slavery still. it is the reason we are getting rid of discriminatory laws against gay people. letting women vote and working towards equal pay. legalizing ganja. stop starting wars for profit. so on and so on. etc etc etc in my opinion if you do not agree with these things. that's Your problem. people change for the better. as the internet becomes ubiquitous the world over it should only speed up the process. there are many baseline similarities between conservative christian fundamentalists, and islam in the middle east and africa. i think that is bat **** crazy.
There is absolutely nobody I know who supports slavery, women not voting, etc.... I guess the left has to tell themselves such things to justify their positions. We do believe that government overreach is a huge problem. If you do not believe in that that that is your problem.
This is the problem with people who are very in-tuned to politics. They believe the candidates that are thrown out there represent represent the populace as a whole. The Liberals like to try and save grace by pointing out the terrible selection of candidates the Republicans put out, however they continue to make gains in Congress. The reality is most Americans are tired of of the usual suspects, however their short attention will not allow them to see beyond what is thrown in their immediate face. Like in the private sector, its all about branding. Everyone hates McDonalds, but everytime you drive by, they have line. Trump is leading because Trump is the only name the uninformed Republican voters hear about. Everyone likes Sanders and find him trustful, but they wont vote because they dont think he has a chance. Everyone has heard of Clinton and Bush, so the automatically gravitate towards those names because they believe they have the best representation of the party they follow simply because its the only name they heard. I used to be disgusted with with uninformed voters, but I am finding it more disgusting of the informed voters who still continue to follow their candidate blindly.
We did we stop starting wars for profit? That isn't likely to change any time soon and an argument can be made that if we stopped manipulating countries that have less power than we do, that our influence would wane and our overall position in the world would drop. It isn't something that is going to end in the next 50-100 years.
you missed the point. the same type of person that would not want a woman to vote or may have not participated in it but still looked the other way would be the SAME type of person today that would not want a gay person to get married. it takes a few decades for people to accept it. and then before you know it wow it's really wrong to enslave someone to pick cotton or build a temple for a god. and bam there ya go getting yourself all evolved and stuff. fixity of a species does not exist.
I fully admit that when I hear a liberal position, I immediately write it off as being bat**** crazy. I also see people here who do the same with my opinions. Everyone believes their own opinions are the right ones but opinions are like assholes. We all have one and they all stink. This is truly fascinating but to the people on the left who think the right is bat**** crazy we think EXACTLY the same thing about you. This particular forum is probably 90% liberal so some may think their position is the predominate one but this board is not a true representation of the country. I think that the percentages are closer to 50 / 50 which is why things are so combative.
is ganja legal everywhere? no it's happening though. and yes i would surmise that there is less war then ever compared to the last several hundred years.
5 out of the last 6 popular presidential election results prove that is not true. if everyone voted it would be even more lopsided.
What about the midterm elections??? Did you ever stop and think that the reason that McCain and Romney lost is that a lot of conservatives could not bring themselves to vote for them? They would rather not vote than vote for someone who does not fall in line with their beliefs. I voted for them but I had to hold my nose and vote for the lesser of my perceived two evils.
ugggghhh yes i have "thought" of the midterm elections. 18-35 are less likely to vote then and so are black, hispanic, and asian people. the conservatives have the older white demo on lock though. that is why i stated if everyone voted mandatory or otherwise it would be even more lopsided.
Even the last 6 presidential elections were very close to 50/50 in terms of popular vote no matter who won.
the last two elections obama won by 5 million and 10 million. the one election that republicans have won out of six, bush vs. kerry was a 2 million difference. so i guess. anyways i'm done going in circles. have a nice day
Should 51% or 52% of the electorate squash the other 49% or 48%?? I am sure most will say yes as long as it is their side in the slight majority but what if you are on the other side???
Sanders does very well with young people. If he can get them to vote, he'll be just fine in a general election.
The answer to this is easy. You're an ignorant dope. You've substituted facts, statistics, and reason with old timey bull**** slogans and religious nonsense.
CW, the same could be said of you substituting facts, reason, and statistics with new age progressive bull**** slogans and total nonsense.
