ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Warriors 10/15/2015 (PRESEASON)

Good thing we aren't playing poker which makes your analogy bogus as hell. We are having an informal conversation on a basketball forum amongst strangers. Accuracy doesn't matter, the point does. Which was rockets being dominated by the Warriors.

 

And the Rockets will not improve in the turnover and FT department

 

How does that go against what I am saying? From 1-15 our guys should be on the same page defensively, obviously it's a little early for that but we aren't even trying.

 

I may as well give up being a Rockets fan on this message board then. or should I put "and the Warriors owned the Rockets" at the end of every post from now?

You said it doesn't matter who is playing and that the defense should be better. I'm saying it does matter because a bunch of 2nd and third string rotations with players who dont know each other very well will kill a defense.

 

Brewer is overrated on defense because of his high steal numbers. Very poor half court and team defender.

 

You can't be a smart fan without acknowledging the obvious. It doesn't make you less of a fan to state facts.

I think the effort should be better and after like three weeks in training camp there should be something other than basic lazy man to man defense

He's more effective with a shot blocker behind him like all defenders.

 

KJ has a horrible form n shot.

Even their scrubs are scoring every single time. Why is our defense so bad?

 

The only thing anybody can take from this game from the Rockets perspective is our system is predicated on having a paint stopper/rim protector/premier rebounder on the floor to cover up all the overplay by our perimeter guys who are intentionally overplaying to try to force the opponent off the 3-point line. This is why I keep saying and I'm going to keep saying that the Howard/Capela combo is critical to our success. Both of those guys have to stay healthy and Capela has to continue to improve for us to have any chance of winning a championship.

Tonight, we have no defensive paint stoppers/rim protectors or premier rebounders in the game and we're getting murdered. This is why I am convinced we need a 3rd big that can defend the paint and rebound (and hopefully hit his FTs). We don't currently have that guy on the roster.
