Price is a playoff choker that will cost 30 million. No team should touch him.

In over 100 years of baseball.. there has never been a "playoff choker."

You're effin nuts. None of our SP are proven long term except dk. Pitchers fall of ledges all the time, wouldnt surprise me if Mchugh or Fiers regressed next season.

He's 0-6 with an ERA of 5. He sucks in the Playoffs and it's not a small sample size.

find a legit closer, resign Kazmir for dirt cheap(since his stock dropped).and trade for a clean up bat...hope that Appel and/or Feliz can come up...

And he could still go out there in the ALCS and throw a complete game shutout.

Kershaw is also doing his best to change a lot of those idiotic sample size stats that have him being a "bad" playoff pitcher as well.

Again, there's no such thing in baseball as "playoff chokers!". Plenty of playoff heroes though.

Have to upgrade the bullpen, a lot. One of Gattis or Carter simply has to go.

I would love Price. The question is do you want to tie up over 200 million dollars in one player or spread it around? If you are going to spend the kind of money Price demands, would you rather have Greinke?

How can you say there are Playoff Heroes and then deny that there are Playoff chokers in the same vein.

we have the 2nd lowest payroll in the majors. Pretty sure we could spend a good 75 mil this offseason and we would still be in the middle of the pack in terms of payroll

    1. Elite closer
    2. Either re-sign Rasmus or upgrade corner OF
    3. SP

They can platoon and have fine production. Also Bregman is going to be up sooner rather than later which means we can move Correa there at that point. All we need at 3B for next year is a stop gap type which is what this platoon will be.

    1b- AJ Reed
    2b- Altuve
    SS Correa
    3b ???????
    Lf ???????
    Cf Gomez
    Rf Springer
    C ???????
    Dh ???????
Those should be the guaranteed starters next year, and hopefully they add either a veteran DH or LF that can hit in the 4 spot behind Correa. Im not sure if he would leave LA but i would also go after Greinke to solidify the rotation, and try to upgrade the bullpen by adding a closer and have Gregerson pitch the 8th.

Hoping Reed breaks camp on the 25 man next year. Will be interesting to see how they handle the Carter situation.

1B, DH, 3B, OF, SP, and Bullpen

Give Singleton, Moran, White and Reed every opportunity to win a spot. The plan is still the plan so build through the farm. That being said it is time to throw a huge deal at a difference maker like Price or a bat.

Build around Gomez, Correa, Altuve, Springer, and Castro every other bat can go.

I'd lowball the hell out of Kazmir and if he moves on so be it. Sign a second ace like Price to go with DK, McHugh, LMJ, and Fiers. You still have VV, Feldman, Appel and others.

    Astros Offseason

    1. Sign a starter, hopefully Price.
    2. Sign a big bat like Chris Davis.
    3. Sign a closer, I'm thinking Soria.
    4. Resign Rasmus and Sipp.
    5. Bring up Reed to play first and Velasquez for added bullpen help.
    6. Get rid of the dead weight aka Gattis, Valbuena, and Lowrie. Let Carter DH since he can actually get on base when he's playing good unlike Gattis who never walks but keep him on a short leash in case he reverts to bad Carter.

    This

Plus I cant believe that upgrading at catcher shouldn't be priority #2 after the bullpen.

    1. Sign Weiters in FA
    2. Trade for Kimbrel-Chapman
    3. Re-sign Kazmir and Rasmus
    4. Bring up Reed at 1st
    5. Give Duffy/Moran a shot at 3b.
