Wasn't hard to see. That was just deflating. Will go down as one of the worst losses in Houston sports history.
Well, yeah, we're talking about a playoff series…so obviously it's a small sample size. Correa had 1 good game out of 5 games. Altuve had 1 good game out of 5 games. Springer had a couple key hits…but at the end of the day, he has gone 4 for 18. Again, not saying they are terrible players and Im not talking about their careers falling apart or making dramatic claims. But, in such a short series, a small sample size…you need more from your best 3 hitters. And, if their season averages are any indication, they could have done more.
Oh well, good season Stros. I hope the team learns from this experience and fills some holes in the offseason.
What is your point? The games were lost because of the bullpen not because we didn't provide offense. Except for tonight. Correa has generally stung the ball the series sometimes into hits, many times into fielders. That's how baseball works for even the best of the best. You're trying to take out one of the best offensive games in Astros history to justify your point but it doesn't work like that, particularly when you're looking at a 5 game sample size. Correa has been everything we could ask for. Perfect? No. But excellent.
Dude, take it easy. There's only one winner to every game, the other team wants to win also. Not to mention there's what 30 teams in MLB and only one team walks away a winner. I'm just as big of a fan as you, you need to learn not to live and die with every pitch.
Correct... The series was lost because of a bad bullpen and a manager that did something not done in over 100 years... Club also didn't get the best Kazmir in the playoffs and could use a real first baseman and DH.
Yes, Hinch is going to lend Harris to KC so they can save their guys. But really, they need base runners. Whether that's taking pitches and working a walk (which they don't do well/often...) or actually doing the darn near impossible and getting hits off the KC bullpen (or Cueto if he keeps going). Just find a way to get on base. Oh, and I guess keep it a 4-2 game too.
