Are you a writer on the show? You're awfully sensitive about this terrible episode.

i was not a fan of the b&w either, but the way they kept jumping around with the timeline it was the best way to not confuse the hell out of us.

as another poster so kindly and eloquently stated, they do the herding thing in the comics, but the particular plan they did last night is unique to the show.

Usually I don't go into the new season of TWD with a lot of excitement, partly because the finales more often than not underwhelm. But after the first episode I become hooked again. That didn't happen this time.

I like the zombie horde in the pit and didn't have much of a problem with the plan. But I didn't like the black and white. I think you could have handled the flashbacks in a better way than that. Sometimes I feel Rick takes things a little too far toward crazytown and it makes it hard stay on his side. Him trying to play dad to Ron couldn't be more awkward and out of place. You realize you killed the boy's father right?! While I understand Morgan feeling a bit guarded around Rick, I think it's a bit much. That was a concern I had for the new season; I was so happy to see Morgan return, but worried they would create conflict between him and Rick. The episode may have been a bit too Rick-centric as well.

I enjoyed Fear and the fresh angle on this world it brought. It had great tension and some great performances from several of the cast members. And maybe that's partly why I'm underwhelmed. It's season 6 now, and I'm starting to feel the endgame should come sooner than later. I can't see how this show can go 10-12 seasons without it spinning its wheels to mediocrity.

Hopefully things get better. TWD having a bad episode here and there is nothing new.

When did we first see the zombie pit? Is this the first time?

yeah it was, i thought it should of just been an ep of catching up and planning for it compared to doing it all in 1 hit.

also i really enjoyed the ep, the whole point of TWD is bad things happen, of coarse if they had the perfect plan then the show would be boring and you guys would all b**** still....

A lot of overreacting going on. The episode wasn't bad at all, IMO.

There's no way that they could continue to live in a community with thousands of walkers just a few miles away. They would've eventually found a way out of that pit. However, just leading them away and hoping that they didn't return just didn't make much sense.

I would've tried to find a way to kill more of them while they were still in the pit before leading them out.

OK. I thought I totally forgot or missed something from last year. It wasn't clear to me what the plan was.

What plan was necessary versus just leaving them there? And where were they being led, back to the pit on the other side to steer them like lemmings?

I think I would have enjoyed the ep more had I not been thinks "what exactly is going on?"

The truck that was blocking them in on top was about to fall into the pit which would release them all, so they had to do something or they'd all get out anyway. Of course, what they actually did was stupid, it would have been a lot better just letting them out a little at a time and killing them all off which would lead to an empty pit that could fill up again and keep everyone safe....but if they always did the smart thing, there wouldn't be much of a show. They had to do something stupid and horribly dangerous with way too many variables that could go wrong in order to have a show.

I think I would've tried to figure out a way to burn them first. Send some lit arrows into the pit and see if it spreads. Or douse some with gas, light them and shove them in to the pit and hope they come in contact with others. Seems like fire would spread through the dirty old clothes they're wearing.

Fire doesn't kill walkers. They would go out before they burned to the bone unless they were drowning in gasoline. They would just be "well done" walkers at that point.

It's a rock quarry. Find explosives, blow the road, walkers can't get out, monitor it in the future, problem solved.

No, the episode was not terrible. It was fine, and left us on a torturous cliffhanger, as such shows always do.

It seems like it must be those wolf dudes, leaning on the horn to draw the walkers to the walls. Although, not sure how happy the wolf clan guys would be with thousands of walkers in their woods all of a sudden, so maybe it is someone else. Gabriel maybe? Maybe the sullen teenager?

Meeting these people in Alexandria is designed to show us just how far the main characters have come, and how much danger they are in of sinking totally into savagery. That's why Morgan is there now, that's why Michonne has become so determined to stop being so violent all the time. That's why Glenn is determined to save that dumbass (who will certainly die soon enough).

As for the 'cattle drive'.. I don't know, I have avoided the comic, so I don't have any hidden info about it.. it did seem questionable to me, I would have tried to figure out a way to destroy them, but the sheer numbers do present a problem, no doubt. But I did remark to my gf as we were watching it - 'They're like cows, and if one bites you, you turn into a cow..'

Sure, that would be a reasonable thing to do, or you could build a wall at the top and put cars and whatnot behind it. There's plenty of better ideas they could have gone with, but none of those good ideas set up a season where there are thousands of walkers in the vicinity being a major threat all season long. They had no choice but to go with the stupid plan to move the story along or it's just "they lived happily ever after"

Considering there seems to be an unlimited amount of Cars and they do have bulldozers . . . . .. . .

Didn't like the B&W, but whatever

As for the plan, maybe it wasn't the best. But I think I'm ok with the fact that sometimes people (especially in difficult circumstances) don't make the best possible choices. Especially when they were going through the dry run--maybe that would have forced some rethinking of the plan...except things changed on the fly. Quick decisions in dire circumstances, and they went with it.

Episode was not season premiere worthy. I feel like a writer watched Momento right before writing the episode. It felt like a horribly written rip-off.
