I have to be in Galveston tomorrow night on business. My guess is that my hotel tv won't have the game. Is there any decent sports bars there that will have the game?
I don't know Galveston too well, streaming games is always a backup. You can search P2P4U on Google, navigate through the site and cross out ads. It does the job for me all the time. Not ideal, but it works. The game is on Fox Sports, so bars should have it, but I'm not sure if standard hotel rooms will. Honestly, no idea.
Well, I did make the mistake that we went ahead again in extras in '86. They actually went ahead, we tied it, then they went ahead again and we fell short. But we did blow a 3-0 lead with our closer on the mound in the 9th with the Cy Young winner waiting to pitch game 7. Other than that, what did I say that was uninformed? You said giving up a four run lead in the seventh "is more epic than..." and then listed some examples. I disagreed. That's an opinion. You don't know how to properly use the word "epic" though, and that's definitely not an opinion. You're upset. That's fine. You also suggested anyone who thought differently was being disingenuous. I was upset for a couple hours and then moved on, and gave my reasoning on why. It's an opinion, and differs from yours. You don't like that, but that's gonna have to be fine, because it isn't gonna change just because you remain upset.
Brickhouse, the Press Box, Jimmy's on the Pier, Murphy's, Brew's Brothers, Galveston Island Brewery, the Spot. That should cover most parts of the island for you. What hotel are you staying at? I can probably be more specific to something in walking distance.
In that case, you'll be right next to nono Tonys (restaurant that should have the game) and olympia grill (go there for food... better than nono tony's). If they don't have it, downtown/strand is right across the street from you, and that's where Murphy's, Brews brothers, mama teresas (pizza place), tsunami, and yagas are. All walking distance. If I had to choose one, I'd go with brews brothers... good craft beer and usually the tap guy is a big Astros fan. Burgers are pretty damn good too. /end Galveston travel guide.
I like that Hinch sticks to his guns, Gattis has been pathetic with no reason to throw him a strike but it's nice to have him out there to break up any momentum you may have going.
Listening to 790 this AM, they suggested starting Tucker over Gattis and Jed over Valbuena. I'd rather stick with Gattis, maybe move him to the 7 slot in the lineup. Jed has had his struggles recently, but I think he balances this lineup more than Val-B... Gomez has to start tomorrow, right?
You seem too familiar about this topic. One day at a time, bro This '80s were before my time. Knowing more details now, that loss is more epic. But that doesn't mean losing this series wouldn't be epic.
Ok. So you're a younger guy. That explains a lot about your reactions. No offense intended. I've just been through much much worse. I also suspect based on more recent comments that you've calmed down since gameday. With even more time passed, I suspect your perspective will change even more. Especially after we win tomorrow.
Don't know if it's been posted or not but... Houston Astros keep their cool over bullpen's Game 4 meltdown http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=13881828&ex_cid=espnapi_internal
OOPS! Wrong link. http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/p...keep-their-cool-over-bullpens-game-4-meltdown
Gattis breaks out of his slump, Altuve breaks out of his mini slump, McHugh throws 6 innings of 2 run ball, the bullpen gives up 1 run, and we win the game 7-3.
Question for hypothetical purposes: I know a lot about baseball but was always a national league guy. My question is about the DH. If Conger were to start at DH and Castro were to get hurt, would it be possible to do a double switch and insert Conger as the backstop? Or is the DH stuck at DH and not allowed to then play in the field? I think this must be the case. I can't think of ever seeing a player move from DH into the field.
