Since he is the solution to everything, and all that really matters is what you've done lately (as it pertains to Harris)??
@Astros can't even get there own team trivia correct. Now who is nitpicking? He made 15 appearances but only pitched 13 innings and gave up 6 runs. Do those appearances where he gave up runs not count? He had an era of 4+ the last month of the season. He didn't give up more than 2 runs in any of those outings so his numbers are not skewed. Also, he pitched more than 1.1 innings more than once only during that time. That doesn't even take into account his performance earlier in the series or the fact he was left in game 4 to give up 4 straight hits with a 4 run lead in the 8th. Hopefully the Astros win game 5 and move on, but this hasn't been a pretty post season for the bullpen or AJ Hinch.
You misrepresent what someone else says, make up hypotheticals and attribute what your view of what someone else's position would be/is. You set up sham arguments/positions..... that is a strawman and that is exactly what you have been doing. Fiers numbers are not all that great in September, I never said they were. However, he was available and another option than the same failure being trotted out game after game. Also, folks were calling for Fiers in game 2 and game 4 before Harris failed. Your response and that of Hinch is to keep marching Harris out there hoping that it changes.
Nah, I've just been pointing out that your entire contribution to this forum has been "Hinch is doing a terrible job." And they, like you , would be completely mis-guided in the desire to put in Fiers. There is absolutely nothing to suggest he's going to come in and fix every negative result that happened... except for the fact that he's not a member of the current Astros bullpen that has failed at times over the season.... let alone ignoring his recent results and lack of recent bullpen experience. Again, he's an emergency and maybe 5th-6th inning guy at best right now (which as of 2 games ago, was vital in that everybody presumed Kazmir would fall flat). Prior to today, over the last 166 games, the Astros had never lost a 4 run lead after the 7th inning. I'm sure this is me making another "straw-man" argument, but if you want to continue to blame Hinch for everything that is wrong in the world, so be it.... but even his "crappy managing" hadn't yielded what ended up happening yesterday all season.
Was at the game Monday... and no joke, I saw fans trying to start the wave in the top of the 8th inning. Lets blame that for everything and move on... at least the wave was unsuccessful.
I don't know what this means to your statement, but the Seattle fans (in almost every Astros @ Mariners game I went to this year) were always successful in starting the wave late in games.
Speaks volumes as to their results on the field. I don't think you'll see many waves in St. Louis, New York, LA, or Kansas City... hell, you won't even see it any longer with the blind sheep Cubs fans.
He gave up 4 of those runs in 2/3 of a inning across two appearances. In the other 12.1 IP, he gave up 2 runs. In your world, they seem to be the *only* ones that count... He had two bad outings; I think your standard is way too high. Granted, some of that is Harris fault because he started the year flat-out dominant. But he was very good in September (and in the Wild Card game), minus two bad outings. Nor does it take into account his scoreless 7th in the WC card game.

Key to G5 is going to be getting the offense going early, again. That's the recipe on the road. It can be done. In fact, I like our chances of doing so against Cueto. Cueto went 6IP, 7H, 4ER, 5:3 K:BB in G2. I'm pretty sick of reading through all of the pessimistic comments. The series isn't over. Save it for when (and if) our postseason ends. Agreed early offense is great, but the main key is McHugh. The more the starter pitches the better, especially with a very shaky bullpen. Stros are still in this!!!!
I'm ready for Neshek. At one point, he was our best relief pitcher. It was a while ago, but the royals have a bead on Harris. Maybe Nesheks quirky delivery can be effective. Certainly a different look.
The argument is simple here, one group believes Hinch is not responsible for the problems of the bullpen, and some of us believe is Hinch AND the bullpen. I believe we have lost 2 games due to ineffectiveness on the bullpen and wrong moves by HInch with that bullpen. If your bullpen is having a bad month and post season, how in this world we have not seen Fiers throw 1 ball?
I've said that also, we need Neshek to pitch to SOME right handed hitters in that lineup. Like i said before, if Neshek is unable to get those kind of outs, we are going nowhere in the playoffs.
