That's exactly why a loss that game was worse... it eliminated the Rockets. A loss yesterday did not eliminate the Astros.
And yet the b****ing only shows up after losses... not in games 1/3 of the Seattle series or game 2 of the Arizona series, or the wild card game... hell, even game 1 of this series, he still gets 2 key outs... and Hinch makes the "right" decision to go lefty on lefty (where people would have complained that Harris is the better lefty matchup based on year-long numbers... if that move didn't work). About the only thing you've contributed is that Hinch is a bad manager when the team loses.... its revisionist/retrospective bull****.
That's all half this forum has been (with cangero leading the charge) since the team fell out of 1st. It's why your last thread was needed the first time around
Despite yesterday, this team has overachieved big time. Even if we give up 47 runs in the 8th tomorrow, id say the same thing. Sure, a few things go differently, and we sweep this series. Id still rather be us than the Rangers. They are on the brink of losing the series after being up 2-0.
I tweeted about TEX today. Dude, THAT **** there? I honestly don't know how they survive tomorrow unless they get an awesome Hamels performance that makes his 2008 jealous.
You didn't read that entire post, hopefully. By responding uninformed, you're ignorant. And that's not an opinion.
LMFAO ........... you get owned on your own examples, so you try and go and get more? By the way, you used the game one example AGAIN.... Harris gave up 2 hits in 2/3 an inning and was bailed out by Perez in that game. Unbelievable. I have heard virtually every excuse now........ "He was saving Sipp and resting him, possibly Gregerson too"...... yet it was a clincher game, and you get to rest everyone if you win... and they both pitched anyway! Then it was that "Harris was effective".... until that was completely shut down as he struggled the last month of the season and in the playoffs...... now it is revisionist BS? There is a lot of BS in this thread, but it isn't revisionist.... you should check your keyboard.
And if Perez gives it up, you're blaming Hinch for THAT move. You see where I'm going now? No, it is... because you're really only dissecting or nit-picking moves that don't work. If it were up to you, no single bullpen pitcher would get another chance once they showed evidence of failure... well guess what, every single bullpen pitcher has failed (most of them spectacularly) over the last 6 weeks.... and even before that, Sipp was buried and deemed "unreliable" to the point where they went out and got Perez. (and now, according to you, he's their best option at all critical points in playoff games). They've also gone out and done their jobs as they should... more often than not... or this team is not even in this situation to begin with.
Harris made 15 appearances in September; he gave up 0 runs in 11 of them. We tend to focus only on the bad outings, and with such a smaller sample size, a bad outing can really skewer the numbers. But Harris wasn't by any reasonable measure ineffective the vast majority of the time in September. He got lit up twice, in fact.
Congrats to the Astros organization. You had a hell of a season and prove those doubters wrong and that you belong with the big boys. I think The Royals will win at home, I hate to say it but they've been there before. If the Astros win game 5 please don't make this comment a signature. I don't want to eat my own words.
Damn, I wish the game was today. Can't wait for yesterday's game to just be a footnote if we can win tomorrow.
Yep. I thought the Astros let him off the hook last game. They got 4, but couldn't deliver a knock out blow.
