Oh man! You nailed it..took me down memory lane Rox...I remember that like yesterday. Kept replaying that Hatcher swing in my head
The Lillard shot wasn't a full-blown choke, though. Tight game throughout, and honestly Portland outplayed us. Chokes hurt so much worse to me. 99 times out of 100, the Astros are in the ALCS right now.
That look you give your girlfriend the moment after we blew the lead and she utters those words "It's just a baseball game"
Hatcher hit one off the left field pole or it barely was fair? Houston sports just breaks my heart so much
I felt this same way when Pujols destroyed Lidge's soul. We clinched the next game on the road. Hoping for the same result this time around.
I missed the game... but oh boy, I can only imagine the feels following it live, must have felt like January 93
Ok, and the next man up could have easily given up more hits, as we saw. You just never know until it happens. One thing that is certain, is that every single guy in that bullpen is capable of having a horrendous outing.
You forgot his 1.12 WHIP Neshek was maybe our best reliever up until mid-August. He had a 2.70 ERA up until then. Overall this season he was above-average to good. You would've known that if you watched the entire season, instead of hopping on board now.
What sucks is that all of the Astros bullpen is susceptible to choking ! The Astros have no lights out pitchers in that bullpen. No matter who Hinch goes to on any given day they could choke.
yeah it's been quite a Hex to break. I still feel Astros will pull this off but Hinch gotta make some changes moving forward in that bullpen in my opinion
True but Jeez give Friers a shot...he can give you 1 or 2 innings out the bullpen negating Thatcher which takes you to Sip to close or Fields...or heck use Friers to shut it down....or use the San Fran Giants playbook like you already mentioned...some sorta hybrid bullpen versus all this BS Non-Sense we saw today
Now you have to wonder if these young guys can come back Wednesday or if they will be so tight that it will be a mistake after mistake.
