Appreciate it, sir. I didn't think I was either, but u never know what rubs people the wrong way on here over the years. There's a group of people who hate me because of my whining about people posting walking dead and GoT spoilers...other than that, I'd like to think I'm respectful to most everyone. But whatevs.
Making a prediction that Mchugh will get rung up for 9 runs in the next game? THAT'S what I've been reading. (Annoying that someone quoted him actually.)
He threw close to 130 pitches and you want him to pitch on 2 days rest? We can't be that unrealistic.
These 3 posts were within minutes of each other. You started with doom and gloom...went to "I love McHugh in this spot...has another big one left in him"...and back to pissed and pessimistic. Drama queen much? I'm not sure why anyone isn't excited and optimistic for Wednesday. We've played mostly better than the defending AL Champs and current AL Central champs who won 95 games. I feel good about Wednesday.
Too many people around here consider others to be an *******, if you don't agree with their views on things like you said, whatevs
We can want Keuchel on 2 days rest off the highest pitch count of his career all we want I'd be absolutely shocked if Luhnow and Keuchels agent would allow him to pitch tomorrow
If the Astros have a 3-2 lead after 7 I wouldn't be surprised to see Hinch do it. First of all, these guys throw between starts anyways so if Keuchel can get a 2-3 inning save it's awfully tempting. It doesn't make much difference if Keuchel pitches game 1 or 2 of the ALCS.
him pitching in relief will absolutely be on the table. slightly off topic, but was talking to a friend from toronto today...apparently price was pissed at the situation, and referred to his teammates as "these guys" in a way that seemed like he was distancing himself from them. the consensus is he's out of there after this postseason. hope for anybody who wants us to sign him in the offseason.
hes not pitching on 2 days rest you guys are nuts. he just threw 125 pitches and was on short rest the start before.
1. A starter does not pitch on two days rest after 120 or whatever pitches. 2. Keuchel isn't the same pitcher on the road. He is mortal. Good, but mortal. Today stunk to high heaven. No way around it. Our pen was exposed for the warm pile of cow crap it is. I think McHugh has the ability to get the job done. Hopefully he gets a few 1,2,3's If he can't go eight I don't know where we go. Maybe Fiers, But, he isn't a blow you away pitcher. Yea he got a nono. But, he is a number 4 or 5 guy in my opinion. What happened to Vince? Is he not on the series roster? I know hanging Chad isn't.
We can't win the world series with Keuchel pitching every other day. There are even tougher lineups to come. So I wouldn't even make him available for relief. McHugh is equally as capable as Keuchel. He pitches with movement which seems to be where KC struggles. Yes. KC is loose now having walked away from death's doorstep, but the Astros have been loose for 3 weeks now. So McHugh can do this. He has too. Keuchel may still need to pitch 3 games in the next series.
Not realistic to expect Keuchel to be able to start after what he did on such short rest, although making an appearance isn't out of the question. McHugh is a quality pitcher. A lot of pressure, but he can handle this, and we can win. It was a really tough loss, but we've seen how resilient this squad is, no need for the doom and gloom.
