Leading 6-2 to start the eighth inning, Houston's win percentage sat at 96.5. But after seven unanswered Royals runs, it has plummeted to 4.1% as the Astros are down to their final three outs.
Sipp was not good in the 8th. But it's Harris who coughed that one up. He was awful in that inning. I have no idea why Hinch didn't have him on a tighter leash.
Exactly People have blamed Hinch today for every bullpen arm that has been used except Gregerson At some point the players have to make plays That inning should have been 2 runs if our best player starts the double play It is on a lot of people Easier to lay it all on one guy though
blaming a manager for leaving a reliever in to give up 4 hits to start the 8th inning isn't hindsight.
Agreed. I was not happy at all with him running Perez out there in Game 2, but today he went with Harris, Sipp, and Gregerson. That trio's been money over the last few weeks. It ain't on Hinch if Harris loads the bases with no outs and then Sipp gives up a couple more hits as well(not to mention the Correa error). The relievers blew it, plain and simple.
