If he could choose a game to win, this is the one.

1-4 UT beats 4-0 OU. Amazing.

team sure seems to love strong as a coach.

that win could have changed his entire trajectory as a coach for the next 10 years.

This game meant so much to the players, the coach, and the fans you can tell by the reaction after the win. Great feeling.

Not sure why anyone would want a mercenary like Chip Kelly representing their program over Charlie, especially after watching that today.

I think it would be a big mistake to let Coach Strong go.

    Give him a chance.

What a difference a week makes. Great win for the players and Strong. I posted this earlier but I think most fans can live with the bumps and bruises from a young team as long as they are playing hard and progress is being made. Yesterday was a big step forward for the program, need to keep it up.

Kelly is one of the few guys that I would fire Strong for - he's one of the few coaches out there that basically automatically makes you a perennial top 5-10 team. Strong may do that, but we really have no idea. Not sure how Chip Kelly is a mercenary any more so than Strong or any other coach. Both were at their only previous college HC job for 4 years, and both made a significant upward move from there.

    Surprise victory, no doubt.

    UT/Strong desperately needed a win.

Texas' last 2 seasons have been an embarrassment.

As often is the case, I believe you are correct - not that it's really relevant with the big win yesterday. The incident still bothers me, but the world does not revolve around me.

Where does this win leave the narrative that we have so little talent that we can't pray to do better than 50-7 against good teams? Seems like if we can beat a top 10 team one week one week then we really shouldn't be having 0-30 quarters against another one the week before. Did we do a lot of recruiting over the week? Seems like the prevailing "logic" is going to give Strong all the credit for the wins and Mack all the blame for the embarrassing losses. BTW, Freak, another unranked team just put up almost 50 points on the #4 team whose defense you rave about.

I actually am excited about the win. I just think a lot of people got a lot wrong about the previous game.

Yeah, KSU was at home. Big difference. The TX/OU game is often unpredictable. You come off as some sort of Mack loyalist.

I am not a Mack loyalist. I was in favor of him being fired. I was not that opposed to hiring Strong. He has a great resume.

I just disagreed with the popular narrative that Mack left us with so little talent that we should not expect more than 50-7 showings. And as I recall, you picked on me and started our argument. Well, I have posted several times since then, and I believe I have thoroughly disproven your argument. It would be nice if someone on ClutchFans would just admit they were wrong instead of trying to say the difference between scoring 7 and 45 points on a team is the location of the game - you're really trying to say that with a straight face? I've admitted I'm wrong here - even in this thread. But I guess you don't do that.

This is very important to you, isn't it? No I do not think 50-7 is acceptable. Does that make you feel better?
