That certainly wasn't the case last night. Mallett had only one pass truly off target all night long.
For a whopping 5 y/a against a crappy defense. That was even with a 70% completion rate which he can't sustain. He sucks. What Canadian team gives him a shot next year? Serious question.
LOL, honestly I don't care but I'm beginning to think that Mallett knocked your girl up or something. You have been ridiculous (par for the course) when it comes to the QB spot.
So you used the argument that since Mallett is the starting QB for the team, he's obviously the better QB… I guess that's not the case anymore.
Awesome. I'm glad that you are undeterred from Hoyer yet again pulling a Hoyer to end the game. Honestly though, it doesn't matter, the season is lost.
Funny that you pinpoint that play, even though he was clearly the better QB. Hoyer will Hoyer…but Hoyering is still 100x better than what Mallett brings to the table. I think, most of all, people want to hear you admit you're wrong…because all you do is use phrases like "ad populum"….1+1 = 8, "nobody matters", "go watch tape", "follow another sport that you might know something about", etc… Clearly, you've been dead wrong about Mallett all year long. Nobody is saying Hoyer is the answer, but Hoyer is still a lot better than anything Mallett has brought to the table. But, of course, lets just focus on that last play where Hoyer effed up…because if not for Hoyer, we would have clearly won the game.
Given that his longest completion went about 8 yards in the air, that's not exactly an impressive statistic. Besides, your opinion is now pretty irrelevant - the only person that matters disagrees with you on the quality of Mallett vs Hoyer.
You say I've been wrong, yet point to a game where Mallett threw only one pass off target all game long....Anyway, I'm not trying to convince you of anything and I really don't care what you think on the topic. Hey, I'm fine with whatever the coin flip told BOB at the beginning of the day. It doesn't matter to me what QB he starts, the season is over.
Interesting. So now that BOB's opinion doesn't match yours, he's just doing a coin flip. But when the coin flipped to Mallett, it was proof you were right. You said the same last year when Mallett got the job the first time. A few weeks later, you were b****ing that Mallett cost the team a shot at the playoffs by playing injured.
He just said that he's treating the games like 11 seasons with a new QB each game.....not exactly a ringing endorsement for either QB or for the head coach's ability to manage QB's. Like I said though, I don't care who starts at QB now, the season is lost.
Hoyer is "a lot better" than Mallett? To me, they both pretty much suck. Hoyer had a hot streak, but reminded us clearly at the end of the game that he's still Hoyer.
Right…when you were using the argument that OB picked Mallett over Hoyer, and that settles the decision, I specifically mentioned to you that OB's decisions are terrible… So now you agree with me. Guru of new information?
Mallett has turned into captain checkdown. I've seen enough of him to realize that he will not be in the NFL in a couple of years. I've seen enough out of Hoyer to realize he'll be an NFL back-up QB over the next 5-7 years. They both suck, but Hoyer is much better.
Mallet completes 53% of passes for 5.3 y/a. It's incredible how bad that is. I don't think people realize that he is NOT serviceable. It's far worse than guys like Fitz, Hoyer, Vince Young, David Carr, etc. I'm really curious to see where he ends up next year.
My view: Hoyer - Trash! Mallett - *****boy! Is trash "much better? I don't think so... http://fansided.com/2015/09/27/steve-smith-talks-trash-to-bengals-fans-rips-dbs-video/
You guys have to realize how r****ded it looks when you compare one ****ty thing to another. It's even sadder when a whole thread is dedicated to personalities and egos. This thread should have been locked on day 1.
