This game is squarely on Hinch. His bullpen management is just baffling.

This. It's amazing how everyone was talking about how well Hinch managed the Yankee game + first game of this series. Now he's the worst manager in close games? What were the last two? 12 run + cushions?

That's why you bring in Sipp to face Morales instead of letting a righty face him and allow him to swing left handed.

But, Hinch made the move so it was obviously a terrible decision.

The bottom 5 of the lineup and Altuve are going to need to get a guy or two on base in these last innings to get Springer and Correa up there with a chance to do some damage. Time to strike their bullpen back!

Would be deflating for the Stros to lose this, but it would be totally demoralizing to the Royals to give us the game back.

Time for Gomez to pinch hit for Valbuena or Castro

If it's going good everything ok

If not it's all on Hinch

    He is an idiot

His posts in "big situations " are terrible

This score right now is on Hinch.

Normal positioning, no shift and we get a double play ball and get out of the 6th up 4-2.

All the talk of the bullpen blowing it would not be occuring if Hinch doesn't do this.

I would have left Herrera to face GAttis.

Did they not suck in September? Did they not choke away the division? OK then.

This is a good point. Kazmir was okay but not good enough today. Him not being able to go at least 6 innings is not good enough for our pen.

The shift is what they have done all year, and it would be idiotic to change it now.

Why does Gattis always hit high choppers?

And yet Perez gave up only a dinky bloop single and a grounder that should have been a routine inning ending double play.

Normal positioning, no shift all season and they probably never make the playoffs in the first place.

Or was this situation special somehow that they should just have not shifted this time, but should have done it all the previous thousands of times?

Better blame Luhnow the , the shifting isn't on AJ, that is the beliefs of the organization and is on Luhnow

Shifts have saved us runs this year though so it's a good strategy

But it ain't on AJ there

Again, Hinch made the move so it's automatically the wrong decision.

Hinch for worst manager of the year!

Sigh, Astros back to their strikeout ways.
