They certainly won when they absolutely had to.

Glad the Astros won yesterday in order to put the pressure on them. Also weakens their rotation a tad going into Toronto.

You think the Rangers can beat Toronto?

Anything can happen... Toronto just dropped a series to the Rays.

Price can be a difference-maker though.

Baseball playoff is so different than hoops and football, if you have 2-3 strong pitchers and your bats are hot, you always will have a shot.

Wow....congrats, Rangers. You have a ridiculous payroll, a team filled with all-stars that have post season experience, and you squeaked out a division championship against a team that was projected to barely finish .500. You should be very proud of yourselves.

I can't find the video yet, but Odor basically threw his knee at Donaldson's face. Maybe it was inadvertent. Buy Odor knew he had no play at first. Donaldson now out:

Odor is asking for a hit by pitch.

there is nothing accidental about that guy, like suh, he knows what he is doing. probably practices the angles that would appear accidental. can't believe he still gets away with it.

Terrible slide by Donaldson, nothing Odor could do.

This is the third "incident" with Odor, Astros, Angels and now Blue Jays

Yeah, it was a bang bang play. And it was definitely a hard slide by Donaldson. But there was no play at first, especially after the 3B bobbled it. Hard to say it was intentional with that type of play, but like Suh, Odor always finds himself in the middle of hard, questionable hits.

They need to address these ridiculous slides into 2nd base in the offseason. I get trying to slide to break up a DP, but sliding way out of the baseline or starting your slide on top of the base when the defender is standing on the LF side of the bag should be outlawed.

Didi could have really jacked up Altuve's knee the other night.

yeah, this one isn't on Odor. Sliding with head up to try and break up the DP is dumb. And Odor jumped to get out of the way and have a tiny shot at the throw--you never know if the runner fell down or something

Rangers sitting pretty against the big bad birds!

Up 1-0, Hamels on the mound to possibly go up 2-0, close it out at home Sunday.

As for Odor, good player who plays hard. Keep doing you Rougie!
Not Odor's fault Donaldson got hurt.

There's an old-school way to remedy that. Next time there's an easy double play opportunity vs that team, the 2B drops down sidearm and throws the ball about 3 inches from the sliding guy's face. It gets the point across. Jeff Kent was good at that.

Can we rename the thread? Kinda weird to still have this name for our forced rivals.

I'm hate-rooting for them. Gotta take care of business, but that ALCS would be awesome.
