My guess is that they will use Marisnick in any key PR situation and that they don't think they will need two speed guys off the bench.

Hoping that means Gomez is fully healthy, and we will be rolling with Rasmus, Gomez, Springer, and Marisnick off the bench.

Very happy Qualls did not make the 25 man.

Gomez won't be fully healthy until next year. Saw him in the postgame celebrations with a huge ice wrap around his ribs, the dude is just battling through his injury.

    I love the guy.

    KC roster:

    Lineup:

    1. Escobar SS
    2. Zobrist 2b
    3. Cain CF
    4. Hosmer 1b
    5. Morales DH
    6. Moustakas 3b
    7. Perez C
    8. Gordon LF
    9. Rios RF

    Bench:

    C Butera
    Inf Christian Colon
    OF Dyson
    Orlando
    Gore

    Starters:
    1. Ventura
    2. Cueto
    3. Volquez

    Relievers
    Closer Davis
    8th inning guy Herrera
    7th inning Madsen

Duffy will pitch at the end of games against lefties

    Others:
    Morales
    Hochevar

and Medlend and Young, either one could pitch in the 4th game or they will pitch Ventura on short rest

That should be the KC roster against our Astros.

A little strange that Qualls was left off. In the WC he was warming up, so I would assume that meant Hinch had him above Neshek and Fields in the bullpen pecking order.

Honestly aside from Gregerson, Sipp, and Harris, everybody they could bring out of the pen inspires no confidence in me. They could have left Neshek, Fields or Perez off and I wouldn't have felt any different.

Looks like Hinch has more confidence in Qualls than Luthnow.

    I don't mind Perez against a lefty.

    And I do trust Fields.

Neshek is a good reliever who is struggling right now, but a guy to pitch in the 6th or maybe 7th is ok with me, only against righties.

I think Neshek is still in the pecking order... they're just not going to put in him a position where has to get lefties out.

Really hoping the time off did some good for both Neshek & Kazmir. Kaz's velocity was down and everything Neshek threw was flat.

Bun B just came out with an Astros playoff song. He just premiered it on The Matt Thomas show.

Did I miss when Periscope became a thing?

I literally had never heard of it 3 weeks ago, and now everybody has one.

It's not that I don't root for UH- I do- but I have to pull for my alma mater.

Rockets. Texans. Astros. Those are my main loyalties.

Those aren't ugly. Nothing wrong with the logo at all- I understand the dildo uniforms were ugly, but not these- and the reason I said "just stop" is b/c the topic has been beaten to death on this forum.

As a Houstonian why would I root for UH?

I have zero affiliation with the university...

Edit..nevermind. Don't want to go off Topic.

    Can't wait till tonight.

A lot of rain projected to come down tonight in KC. Hopefully they are wrong. Hate delays.

Yep seems like the best chance of rain is basically the entire period of the game .. Bullpens are looking more and more important by the minute

If that's truly the case... and the weather is expected to be ok the rest of the week... they should just forgo the off-day on Saturday (and start game 1 tomorrow). Wouldn't effect either team's rotations, and ensures you don't have a sloppy delay-ridden bullpen game.

It has always baffled me why they force this many off-days during the post-season... I know they do it primarily for tv reasons... but they've just come off a season where they seldom have an off-day, and now have one almost every 2 games.
