I forgot to add that Barea is still annoying as hell. I really can't stand that guy.

Maybe it was just seeing him play tonight, but Capela reminds me of a younger Dalembert quite a bit.

Lanky, athletic, great shot blocker & rebounder, capable finisher around the basket. Defensive center, with very little offensive input besides the catch and finish or put back.

The Hakeem/Mutombo comparisons are kind of nuts IMO. I'd be very pleased if Capela can have a similar career to Dalembert's.

Look, I get your point that Capella comparisons are kind of over the top right now, but so is comparing him to Dalembert. He's already a better player than Sam and he's only got about 20 games played in the NBA. At 19 years old, with very little real coaching he's got nowhere to go but up. His raw athleticism and feel for the game are already obvious to all and with a coach in Mchale (and Dream) he will get the absolute greatest coaching for low post moves any player could hope to have. I think I remember him hitting a nice little jump hook put back tonight that Worrell spoke of him and Dream working on this summer. Granted, it was one moment in one game, but what I saw tonight was almost shocking in terms of progress made in 1 year.

The sky's the limit for this kid.

You know you're deep when you start leaving out players. Dmo arguably better than TJ. How Insane can you get with lineups?

I am with the Dalembert comparison, for now until he shows otherwise. Remember when even Terrence Jones was a next Josh Smith (Smith whos never been an All Star much less a Hall of Famer)

Dally used to tease with occassional offensive "touch" too. Similar to Dwight but in a worse way, sometimes he'd sometimes play offense outside his limitations forcing a shot or 2 too many.

Whats different about them at the same age is Capela seems to be the harder worker off the court. That means improvement will come.

Nice to read these exciting comments. I didn't see the game, so I want to ask a few questions. How many defensive rebounds did Capela get? Is he relying only on his athletic ability, or did he box out as well?

I read Thornton went 3/12, but I have read good things about him too. Does it look like he will be able to shoot more 3's as he gets more comfortable with the team?

I was just thinking the same thing driving in to work today. How I'd love to drop into the sports book at the Mirage and throw down 1 bill on the Rockets to win it all. Last night was highly enjoyable. Clint freaking Capela.

Highly touted coming out of high school. Didn't pan out at Florida, but as you saw he's athletic freak.

I love how effortlessly it seemed how KJ filled up that stat sheet. 5 assists? 1 being a highlight reel halfcourt alley-oop assist? 3s and dunks. Morey, we are not worthy.

Solid game for the ones already on the team, the third stringers, not so much. My takes:
    - Capela looks solid, improved and so glad his FT form is still rainbow style. I was scared he completely tweaked it after watching the grizzlies game.
    - Dekker is a hard worker and will be a solid player after some time in the D-League
    - Thorton looked better, on both sides of the ball. I don't like how he's mostly looking to score and when he's out of control, just throws it up there against the glass hoping Capela will clean it up. Worked in Memphis, not last night ;)
    - KJ, very gifted and while better in creating and rebounding, Thorton is the better shooter and arguably defender. He has a red flag for me personally and that is celebrating every single play like he just did something major. Reminds me too much of Wafer at this point. Hope that arrogance changes. Good to see him make that 3 though.
    - Beverley's 3pt shooting is still there, the rest will come
    - Joshua Smith is just too fat man and that Tyler #50 guy might have a shot to get that 15th spot if he can hit that open jumper (long two) and rebound
    - Commentary: please no Scorey Brewer, just stop with the lame, corny nick names. If you cannot come up with anything, just call him Brew or Drunken Dribbler. Also, comparing Capela to Dream, please stop that too.

Yes. Dalambert is a major talent, he just never had really serious and dedicated approach to the game. If Clint works hard he may surpass Dally.

Deke? I don't see it. Capella is more fluid, but dikembe was way bigger and more physical.

Dream? U hmmm... That's just silly at this point. There are similarities in style, except that Dream was way better at everything...

In general, I love our body and ball movement, seems like there's more emphasis on that.

Also, can we get some new staff for the Rockets website or just re-hire Craig Ackerman and whoever else did work on post game articles was just awesome. Right now, we get jack and even when we get some quotes or information, it's never as thorough as before and I especially loved opponents' quotes and quotes from players who not necessarily did well or anything.
