That's a fair take, but I think you are underestimating just how bad Luck has been this season. Texans fans are whining about the QB position, but Luck has been even worse. Of course, given our luck, Luck will revert back to almost elite Andrew Luck this Thursday and we'll get blown out.

Surprised they didn't release him later A) just in case there's a setback with Luck and B) to screw with our gameplanning.
You can't say they are the coach's players when they do well then say they are the GM's players when they don't. You're right. It doesn't make sense.
Yeah it's mainly the coach. But like I've said if Rick isn't doing anything except doing what the coach wants then he's worthless
The difference is that everyone knows that this is the worst Luck has ever played...and expect him to get out of that rut. Unfortunately, everyone knew that the Texans were toast the moment they traded from Brady's back ups... No one really expects much better from our starting QBs, who wouldnt be worthy 2nd stringers on most NFL teams. Luck has hope...he's just a coach short of a major improvement in performance. Ive always believed that Chuck Pagano is way too invested in trickery and deception... And really has been lucky to have Andrew bail his poor decisions out as a head coach... Luck is infinitely better than the dumpster fire we have under center. And yes...he will jumpstart his season by playing the Texans. That being said, he really doesnt have to throw the ball much. He should just let his running backs run amok on our defense (note: Matt Ryan only had 1 TD yesterday). My friend who saw both of these guys since summer training camps was right all along. We as Texans fans need to embrace the fact that this season is going to be a wash. Neither QB has the necessary tools to be a successful starter. One lacks the arm strength, foils under pressure, and turns the ball over way too much. The other lacks the ability to mesh a God given arm with his brain. That lack of disconnect is evident from the # of passes that the turf catches... Personally really hope that the Texans continue to suck...rather than continuing on a road of mediocrity(another 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7 season). Sadly, JJ is learning what it really means to be a Texan...something Andre Johnson was stuck experiencing for a long a$$ time...

Regardless of an "OLD" Andre Johnson and regardless of how bad they have started...they are 2-0 in the division...AND soon to be 3-0 after Thursday... AND will represent the AFC South as a playoff team. Good for Dre...thats really all he wanted. And we are going to be 1-4...looking like eventual favorites to land the #1 overall pick in 2016 (only then to have Goff stay at Cal for his senior year)...
