Just heard the dumbest call in the history of sports radio. Caller's ideal scenario tomorrow is if Astros AND Rangers win so Astros don't have to play Rangers on Monday and can just get straight to the WC game.

As if that was bad enough, the host said that that was the optimal scenario because you don't have to worry about whether you pitch Fiers or Kazmir against Texas and can just get straight to having Keuchel go against the Yankees, as if the game Monday would be at all relevant to a potential Tuesday game against the Yankees.

The absolute dumbest exchange in the history of sports radio.

No. In that scenario we would play Texas in Arlington on Monday for the division crown.

    The Angels would be eliminated.

Yes, we won series 10 to 9 so they have to go to Houston.

Now, i really think we are winning today.

We've had multiple people on here arguing for that very scenario.

I have to congratulate the Astros for making in it to the Wild Card game, for that they needed to win last 2 series on the road, something they did not do for many months.

They played good down the stretch, lets hope they continue with it next Tuesday at NY.

Good thing is NY is really struggling, but they are sending Tanaka, a very good pitcher against our team.

Now, if we win that game, then we play the Royals, better than playing the Blue Jays right now.

So, we are playing in October, lets get hot, now everything can happen, and we have the pitching to make things interesting.

What should be our 25 men roster???

    C Castro
    Conger

    1b Carter
    Gonzalez
    2b Altuve
    3b Valbuena
    Lowrie
    SS Correa
    Villar

    OF
    RAsmus
    Marisnick
    Springer
    Tucker
    DH Gattis

    Rotation:

    1 K
    2. McHugh
    3. McCullers
    4. Fiers/Kazmir???

    Bullpen
    Gregerson
    Harris
    Sipp
    Oliver Perez
    Qualls
    Neshek
    Fields

I assumed Gomez is unable to play (hopefully i am wrong) and VV has not been used in tough situations, so i don't see him making the club. The loser of Kazmir/Fiers last spot in rotation will be the long man out of the bullpen.

For that reason i have Villar in my 25 men roster, he plays everywhere, hits equally good from both sides and has speed. Now, who would you take out, Fiers, Kazmir, Qualls or Neshek??? ONe of those needs to go for Villar to play, or take Villar and have all those pitchers.

Unless they have changed the rules, the wild card game is considered round one of the playoffs, so you set your 25 man roster for that game and can reset it if you win. That being the case, you definitely leave McHugh and McCullers off.

Good point, so we go with Villar for sure and VV, unless Gomez is able to play

Blue Jays hit 2 round-trippers today vs our 0, finishing 1st in HRs.

Stros unable to break the 10+ HR record.
